In 2045, Indonesia will touch the age of 100 years, where that year will be predicted to be a demographic window, where the number of productive ages will be greater than the number of unproductive populations. This can have an impact on possibilities such as demographic bonuses or demographic curses.
Of course in the next 30 years, Millennials who are still in school will be the forefront of the development of this nation, whether as office holders or not.
Therefore, millennial generation must raise the value of its human resources so that they are ready to become the nation’s best cadres to create a just and prosperous Indonesia.
Millennial Generation is a term that is quite familiar to our ears. The term comes from the word Millennials, coined by two American historians and writers, Willuam Strauss and Nell Howe in several of his books.
The demographic bonus that goes hand in hand with improving the quality of Indonesian human resources will certainly provide progress towards the Indonesian nation in realizing Indonesia Gold 2045. Youth will now be the frontline in realizing Indonesia Gold 2045,
Amidst the existing digitalisation of Industru, millennial groups are considered the most able to adapt to all existing developments.
At present, the Indonesian government has set Roadmap Making Indonesia 4.0 as a strategy in achieving the target of becoming the top 10 global economic powers by 2030. Total population growth and supported by the development of infrastructure and human resources, will certainly be an important capital to welcome the industrial revolution 4.0 .
Meanwhile, West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil said millennial generation must be able to provide benefits to others. The generation must also have unlimited creativity so that they can become the leader or Supreme Executive Officer (CEO) of their company.
The former Mayor of Bandung also considered that millennial generation must be able to create unique creativity. He took the example of Maicih chips from Bandung, which were successfully marketed through social media. In addition to unique products, creativity can also be demonstrated in terms of product naming, product form, to how the product is sold.
We also cannot turn a blind eye to Millennial Generation, because that generation is the best generation that grew up with a healthy nation after the reform era. The current millennial generation has on average gained a better quality of education and political environment than the previous generation.
As a result. Millennials are not a minority and are trapped in the legacy of past conflicts. They too have dared to open up new service spaces and encourage change.
At present more than half of millennial generation lives in cities. They have broad access to the education, health, information technology and internet environments. They also have the confidence to be equal with other countries, especially in developing the potential of the digital economy and creative industries.
The government has also made many improvements, especially in treating millennial as an asset and strength.
One problem that is a challenge in itself is the very low participation of millennials in the world of politics. During this time the voice of the younger generation is often ignored by many politicians because they realize that the younger generation is not interested in politics.
But along with the times and the rise of campaigns that invite millennials to participate in the 2019 edition of the general election, it is not possible that the results of the 20199 general election will depend very much on millennial generation.
The 2019 general elections that have been held might mark the turning point of millennial generation to show a higher level of participation. It is only a matter of time until millennial generation dominates the political map in Indonesia.
Therefore, the success of the 2019 election will be proof that the future development of the Millennial Generation is also important to the success of national development and interests, therefore the role of millennial youth is certainly very much needed.
Millennial groups tend to dislike something that is rigid, it shows that millennial in Indonesia is a dynamic figure, and that is certainly needed by the government in completing its development.
