Joint Ministerial Decree (SKB) 11 The Minister is a guideline to prevent the State Civil Apparatus (ASN) from being exposed to radicalism and not Islamophobic policy. The politicization of the 11th Ministerial Decree associated with Islamophobia is a narrow way of thinking and underestimates the real threat of understanding anti Pancasila.
The planned implementation of the 11 Ministerial Joint Decree (SKB) is in the midst of controversy. There are those who accuse this decision of being a manifestation of Islamophobia. Then what is Islamophobia?
Islamophobia can be interpreted briefly as a form of fear of everything related to Islam. It can be said that Islamophobia is an excessive fear that does not have a strong basis for thinking about Islam, it can even be called making it up.
Those who understand Islamophobia are usually those who already have wrong perceptions about Muslims, prejudice them, and declare that Islam is a religion full of hatred, intolerance, violence and restricting its people with all restrictions.
According to Muslim Scholar Prof. Komaruddin Hidayat, the roots of Islamophobia are derived from differences in theology or religious beliefs. Between Islam and other religions, theology is clearly different, isn’t it? Including, differences in technological progress.
Public opinion states that Islam is a destructive religion full of violence was originally poured by the West so that the world community does not know Islam let alone embrace it. Their hatred of Islam is increasingly visible with effort and hard work so as to form a new world order that makes Islam a religion that must be avoided, abandoned, even if necessary banned both in terms of the imposition of attributes, implementation of worship, and most importantly is not to Islamic law that just and wise coloring a country.
Islamophobia is further strengthened by terror incidents. The culprit is suspected of being a radical Islamic group from countries that have a sizable base of Muslims in the world, for example, suicide bombings in the UK, suicide bombings in Spain, WTC tragedy in America, and also a series of other incidents that have made the public label Islam is a religion of terrorism.
This understanding is certainly very wrong and quite unfortunate.
Considering the 11 ministerial decree was born from the government’s concern when he saw the spread of radicalism which was increasingly worrying. Especially in the ASN (State Civil Apparatus) environment. ASN does not only function as a public servant but also plays a role in realizing a healthy state administration. If the ASN is exposed to radicalism, how will the people who come into contact with this ASN?
As an example; The teacher is a member of ASN, let’s say this teacher is exposed to radicalism and teaches the seeds of the nation’s generation, won’t it cause concern? The possibility of radical ideologies that he embraces will be channeled to his students. Either openly or secretly. So it is only natural for a country to follow up on this case by issuing a Joint Ministerial Decree. This application is not without reason, namely one of the government’s efforts to protect ASN against radicalism which is considered to have threatened national integrity.
The application of the 11 ministerial decree has 11 items, which in essence is a ban on various acts that smell of radicalism such as hate speech, hoaxes, the spread of memes that do not educate through social media. Sanctions will be imposed for content uploaders including those who are discussing in the conversation which contributes by clicking like, dislike, share, retweet, broadcast and so on.
This is a new policy that must be understood well. When viewed from experience, most people always forward news that is not necessarily true. As a result, the content presented is confusing and confusing. Therefore, the government expressly wants to suppress this adverse activity through the Ministerial SKB 11 rules. However, if anyone considers that this Ministerial Decree 11 is Islamophobia is a big mistake! Because clashing religion with the government is not justified.
Not denying the role of this digitizing world makes users addicted. Recognition of exclusivity and being followed as a trend are seen as an amazing achievement. In fact, the negative threat in the form of exposure to radicalism that continues to squirm through social media is not realized by them. Various utterances of hate, hoaxes to memes that do not educate as if it becomes an ordinary thing. In fact, they consider it just funny.
Though this activity can trigger other wider problems. Makes users more extreme, correct themselves, to show deviant behavior. The enactment of the 11 ministerial decree is specifically aimed at the state to protect all its citizens from exposure to increasingly strong radicalism amid the increasingly worrisome development of the 4.0 era.
