Radicalism is believed to still be a common threat to the life of the nation and state. The spread of radical understanding was also allegedly increasingly massive by utilizing the sophistication of technology. The public and the government are advised to be aware of the spread of the forbidden ideology.
The word radical seemed to be a frightening word, the word seemed to describe the action that is remote from the peace and love of fellow man, then sebenarn y a what was radical and how we know it.
Radicalism is an understanding created by a group of people who want drastic social or political change or renewal by using violent methods.
According to Kartodirjdo (1985), radicalism is a social movement that completely rejects the ongoing social order and is characterized by a strong moral irritation to oppose and hostile to people who have special rights and power.
Meanwhile, according to Hasani and Naipospos (2010), radicalism is a view that wants to make fundamental changes in accordance with its interpretation of the social reality or ideology adopted
Not infrequently these acts of violence can cause casualties and leave a very deep sorrow.
When viewed from a religious point of view, the word radicalism can be interpreted as a religious understanding that refers to a very high religious foundation, so that not infrequently adherents of that understanding / sect use violence to people of different understandings / radicals to actualize the religious understanding held and believed to forcefully accepted.
Those who think radically, will consider acts such as bomb terror, attacking the authorities or destroying houses of worship of other religions as part of jihad.
Even if some of its members die, the radical group will consider the deceased as someone who longs for heaven.
Economic problems turned out to also be a cause for a person to immediately believe in radical figures because they are considered to be able to bring drastic changes to life. In addition, the education or teaching of religion which is wrong by educators by giving wrong teachings is also a source of cause for people to become radical.
Of course we are familiar with the spread of radicalism which often targets state and private universities, this condition is of course very potential for students to be exposed to radicalism.
We must also be able to recognize the characteristics of people who should be suspected as a radical group, which usually members of this group suddenly become anti-social, spend time with an undisclosed community, experience emotional attitudes when talking about political and religious views, and the most striking is expressing excessive criticism of community practices in general, and cutting off communication with parents and families.
In addition, radicals tend to have a narrow, hard understanding and always want to correct the understanding of others.
Worse, they have shown themselves as someone who is anti against Pancasila, they do not want the Indonesian state to be divided with the principles of Pancasila. They want to change the Indonesian state of Pancasila into a khilafah state.
If they are anti-Pancasila, they will certainly be anti-diversity in Indonesia. Where diversity as an existing diversity should be able to unite, but on the contrary reject the difference itself.
We must also be on the lookout for people who are openly unhappy with the thought of moderate religious leaders or religious institutions. Radicals will assume that moderate religious leaders have been infiltrated / misled.
Not infrequently, radicalism seems to complicate the true religion of Islam (light) by considering the Sunnah worship as if it would be compulsory and makruh as if it is haram.
Radicals sometimes tend to behave in a religion that prioritizes secondary issues and overrides the primary.
So, plural found that people who have been exposed to radical understandings, he will easily disbelieve others who disagree. The most extreme thing is they even dare to speak up to disbelieve a government that adheres to democracy to disbelieve Muslims in Indonesia who uphold local traditions.
Hard thoughts and attitudes of someone who is exposed to radical understandings, sometimes seen from his rejection of non-Middle Eastern ideologies including western ideologies, such as democracy, secularism and liberalization.
By recognizing the characteristics of people who have been exposed to radical understandings, we should be aware of these understandings, lest we get carried away to get trapped in them to forget the nature of Indonesian society.
