DENPASAR – Chairman of the Bali Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI), Prof. Tjokorda Oka Artha Ardhana Sukawati, said that his members strongly support the Group of Twentt (G20) Summit which was held in Bali, when found in the Jimbaran area, Badung, Bali. .
The man who is usually called Cok Ace admitted that the location of the event was focused on the southern area of Bali. “This is because it has complete facilities and the accessibility of Ngurah Rai airport and from security, indeed in the southern part it is very possible for the implementation of this venue.
According to the man who serves as the deputy governor of Bali, he is very grateful that Bali was chosen as the location for the world event so that there is a positive impact and overall promotion of Bali, especially after being hit by COVID-19 which has an impact on Bali’s economy.
Although not all PHRI members can directly enjoy the impact of the G20, because not all hotels and restaurants will receive guests from the delegation, “But the vibrations have been felt by other friends even in areas that have not been used.”
Cok Ace said, his party has received a list of how many hotels the G20 delegates will use, “But there are delegates who also use hotels outside the ones we listed.”
All hotels and restaurants have implemented, firstly, the requirements of the CHSE Cleanliness, Health, Safety, and Environment Sustainability protocols.
“The second thing that we have fulfilled is the standardization of disaster issued by the Bali provincial government. And it has been done by all hotels in Nusa Dua.”
“This refers to the experience of organizing the IMF and APEC, there is a kind of hotel security verification, this has been carried out by PHRI with the Bali Police, there are 23 hotels that will be verified. It’s already running and about 5 hotels left. This is our effort to make the G20 a success, as we have experienced at APEC and the IMF before.”
Bali has prepared approximately 10 tourist destinations for the G20 Summit delegates to visit, such as Tanah Lot Tabanan and Ubud Gianyar. Weather is a concern ahead of the G20 Summit.
“We also continue to monitor the weather in Bali and which areas will not rain, especially now that it can be predicted,” explained Cok Ace.
On the other hand, the Deputy Governor of Bali also highlighted several Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) which will enliven the G20 Summit in Bali. It is known that there are 22 MSMEs that have passed curation by the Ministry of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises (Kemenko UKM) and Smesco which consist of MSMEs in the craft sector (creative economy), fashion, food, cosmetics, to wellness and there are as many as five MSMEs from Bali who will be the official merchandise for the G20 Summit.
“We are certainly happy, because the five SMEs from Bali are really good and deserve to be chosen,” said the Deputy Governor of Bali, who is familiarly called Cok Ace.
Cok Ace said he was happy that MSMEs from Bali became official souvenirs of the G20 Summit. He hopes that this can be a motivation for other MSMEs to be able to compete in the international market, he concluded.
