JAKARTA – Deputy Chairman of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) Kyai Marsudi Syuhud, urged the public not to be easily provoked by the rise of negative narratives that trigger divisions, especially ahead of the 2024 Election. This was conveyed in response to the emergence of a polemic regarding Megawati Soekarnoputri’s speech which criticized women. recitation.
“The statement by the Chairman of the PDIP must be seen and interpreted that everyone has a purpose when delivering a statement. This is important because statements can be interpreted in various ways, so they can be true and false. Kyai Marsudi said in an interview at TVRI Station, Friday (24/2).
The Deputy Council of the MUI also called on all parties so that this statement would not be misinterpreted so that a tabayyun or clarification process could be carried out.
