Papuan Traditional Figures Appreciate the Development of PYCH as a Center for New Civilization in Papua

The Papua Youth Creative Hub (PYCH) building, which will soon be inaugurated by President Jokowi, has received a positive response from the community. One of the traditional Papuan leaders, Ondoafi George A. Awi also appreciated PYCH which he considered would become the center of a new civilization on Cenderawasih Earth. 

In the eastern part of Indonesia, in Papua to be precise, the government is promoting infrastructure development that improves people’s welfare. One of the infrastructure developments built to improve the welfare of the Papuan people is the construction of the Papua Youth Creative Hub (PYCH) building.

Young people in the land of Papua have extraordinary determination, passion and talent. It is hoped that the talents and creativity of these young people will develop rapidly with the functioning of the Papua Youth Creative Hub (PYCH) Building located in Wahno Village, Abepura District, Jayapura City, Papua Province.

There are many excellent talent with excellent talent in Papua and West Papua both in the fields of science, arts and culture, and in the field of sports, and this is a big task for the government to prepare good talent management to organize. This is where the role of the Papua Youth Creative Hub (PYCH) will be. ).

Papua Youth Creative Hub (PYCH) is a forum that brings together outstanding young human resources from various cross-disciplines of knowledge from Papua. This development was lined up to initiate the development of innovative Papuan human resources.

Papua Youth Creative Hub will be the center for developing creativity and startup businesses in Papua. In this program, various self-development activities will be held to complement business skills, including other soft skills, such as communication, leadership, and basic management.

Traditional leaders in Papua are very proud and appreciate the construction of the PYCH Building because it is a source of new civilization for the land of Papua. Indigenous Papuan leaders stated that the existence of the Papua Youth Creative Hub (PYCH) building would become a new civilization for young Papuans. Civilization that makes the Land of Papua more advanced and prosperous.

The chairman of the Port Numbay Indigenous Peoples’ Institute (LMA), Ondoafi George A. Awi expressed his gratitude to President Joko Widodo for all his efforts to advance the Papuan people, especially the PYCH building as a center for the self-development of the younger generation. He said the PYCH Building was a place for young people to express themselves and be able to develop their creations and talents to help improve prosperity in Papua.

George A. Awi admitted that he had toured all parts of the PYCH building, as well as witnessed activities for the self-development of young Papuans, as well as seen preparations for the inauguration of the PYCH building by President Jokowi. According to him, the PYCH Building has complete facilities and is representative of the customs in Papua. This is a matter of pride for the people of Papua because through this building, Papua can become one of the regions that can become a center of creativity for the nation and state of Indonesia.

George A. Awi invites all young Papuans to take advantage of the PYCH building because it has facilities that support self-development. As well as inviting the community to support all work programs launched by the Inspiring Young Papua (PMI). 

George A. Awi also expressed his gratitude to the Head of BIN Budi Gunawan for fostering young Papuans. PMI is an organization fostered by the State Intelligence Agency (BIN) to become the driving force for Papua’s progress.

Papua Youth Creative Hub which is located on Jalan Poros Abepura or about 11 km from the center of Jayapura City. Built on an area of ​​15,000 m2, PYCH has a main building area of ​​3,520 m2 and 1,812 m2 of supporting buildings. Built 2 floors high with a total area of ​​5,392 m2 and 3,000 m2 of green land, the PYCH development includes the main building, dormitory, sports venue, hall for exhibitions or presentations, and co-working space.

Adopting the green building concept, the Papua Youth Creative Hub Building in Abepura District, Jayapura City, Papua has complete facilities to support the interests, talents and creativity of young people in the land of Papua.

In this building there are rooms for MSME products, training rooms, meeting rooms, multipurpose rooms, rooms that can be used for co-working spaces, technology learning rooms to libraries. There is also a grandstand-shaped room with a capacity of more than 300 people. This room can be used for performances, religious and others.

As is well known, the PYCH Building will later be managed by Inspiring Young Papua (PMI) who are specifically supervised directly by Deputy IV for Economics of the State Intelligence Agency (BIN). Inspiring Young Papua is a place for young Papuans to channel their talents. Not only in the arts, they are also trained to become independent young entrepreneurs. With this program, it is hoped that indigenous Papuans (OAP) will have qualified and high-quality human resources.

PMI is a forum entrusted by President Jokowi and directly assisted by the State Intelligence Agency (BIN) to encourage all young Papuans to work and create superior products for MSMEs and their technology to be marketed in order to strengthen the Papuan and national economy.

Inspiring Young Papua was founded by 21 Papuan youths and girls, who come from various fields. It is hoped that with this program the talents of the youth in Cendrawasih Earth will be accommodated. In addition, they will be trained by the State Intelligence Agency (BIN) to be independent, so that they can reduce the unemployment rate in Papua.

The appreciation of Papuan traditional leaders for the PYCH and PMI buildings shows that the government’s program through BIN has had a positive impact on the community. It is also hoped that this support will inspire the wider community to always support various national programs that lead to the welfare of the Papuan people.
