Jayapura – President Joko Widodo is planned to inaugurate the Papua Youth Creative Hub (PYCH) building on March 21, 2023. It is believed that the construction of the building initiated by the Papuan Inspiring Youth (PMI) group will become a symbol of human resource development in Papua.

PMI Secretary, Vitha Faidiban, expressed his deepest gratitude to President Joko Widodo and Head of the State Intelligence Agency (BIN), Budi Gunawan for assisting various PMI activities.

“On behalf of PMI, I would like to thank Mr. President Jokowi and the Head of BIN, Mr. Budi Gunawan. This is a very extraordinary building and it helps us young Papuans to be creative and innovate,” said Vitha Faidiban.

The PYCH building is a place for Papuan youths to channel their talents. Not only in the arts, they are also trained to become independent young entrepreneurs.

Not only that, the building will later be used and utilized by PMI to carry out its work programs for the welfare of the people in Papua and West Papua.

With this program, it is hoped that indigenous Papuans (OAP) will have qualified and high-quality human resources (HR). The PYCH building is also expected to be able to help the younger generation of Papua in making works and doing everything that can be done for the good of the people of the land of Papua.

The existence of the PYCH Building is also inseparable from the role of BIN under the leadership of Budi Gunawan. BIN also provides guidance to PMI in carrying out its programs and helps increase creativity and innovation for the Papuan people.

In this case, BIN went directly and embraced young people who are members of PMI to foster corn cultivation and cattle farming in Fakfak Regency, West Papua Province.

For corn cultivation, PMI is clearing 400 hectares of land in the Bombray District, Fakfak, using idle land to make it productive.

“Currently, with the target of clearing around 400 hectares of land, more than 200 workers will be absorbed. In the future, if it continues to grow, it will be able to absorb thousands of people,” said PMI Coordinator for Fakfak Regency, Abdul Wahab Iha.

Meanwhile, PMI Kebar Timur Coordinator, Daud Amnan said, the young community who are members of PMI also empowered around 120 residents from a number of tribes in West Papua to work on corn fields located in Sitori Village, East Kebar District, Tambrauw Regency, West Papua Province.

“I am involved in the field, until now we have accommodated every tribal chief in this area to do the job, both youth and parents. 120 people are already working,” said Daud.

Going forward, BIN will continue to foster PMI in developing creativity and innovation and empowering the people of Papua for the welfare of the Cendrawasih Land.

The existence of the PYCH and PMI buildings is one of the government’s strategies through BIN to advance Papua. It is hoped that Papua will be more prosperous, because many people’s economic centers will grow in the Cendrawasih Land. [*]
