The entire community in Intan Jaya Regency expressed how furious they were in responding to the cunning actions carried out by KST Papua, which continued to use innocent civilians as shields for their lives to disturb the concentration of the security forces and ask for protection when they were urged by the security forces security.
Intan Jaya Regency, Central Papua Province had experienced disturbances for up to 2 (two) consecutive days from groups of Papuan Separatist and Terrorist Groups (KST), who did not even hesitate to carry out attacks on security forces from joint TNI, Polri and BIN personnel and also continued to terrorized civilians in the region. However, now the whole situation in the region has returned to being conducive thanks to the hard work of the Indonesian security forces.
Kapendam XVII / Cenderawasih, Colonel Kav. Herman Tayraman then stated that indeed before, namely on Sunday April 23 2023 the KST Papua used 2 (two) long barrel firearms and continued to try to attack security forces including the Yonif 305/TKR Task Force troops who were on duty in Sambili Village to Kusage Village .
From the attacks by the separatist and terrorist groups, in the end there was gunfire. However, the great thing about all the personnel of the country’s security forces is that they were able to make the Papuan KST group flee and there were absolutely no casualties from the security forces.
Furthermore, Colonel Kav, Herman added that as a result of the disturbance which continued to make the local community uneasy in Sambili Village, Kusage Village to Mamba Bawah Village, it finally triggered a commotion from the KST Papuan mob with the villagers until in the end all the villagers tried to drive them out of the village immediately.
How could it not be, because the villagers also admitted that they were very angry with all the barbaric actions carried out by KST Papua. Because not only do they continue to spread terror and fear, but these separatist and terrorist groups often use civil society in the villages as shields to threaten public safety.
Then, when an attack from KST Papua occurred, all joint security personnel immediately moved quickly to be on alert, especially when there was the possibility of a follow-up attack, so that anticipation was immediately taken.
Herman Taryaman also explained that the attitude of the residents of Kampung Bilogai was very angry with all the actions of Papuan separatist and terrorist groups. the efforts of the villagers to expel them even by arming themselves with bows and arrows to be able to carry out the expulsion.
Disquiet was not only felt by civil society and villagers, but in fact it was also felt by the Forkopimda in Intan Jaya Regency, so they have agreed to continue to fight against KST Papua because so far it has continued to make the situation unsafe.
So far, it’s not only cruel and ruthless, but Papuan separatist and terrorist groups are also a very cunning group. How could I not, because they often use completely innocent civil society as their shield.
Firmly, the Commander of the Cenderawasih XVII Regional Military Command (Pangdam), Major General (Mayjen) TNI Muhammad Saleh Mustafa then ensured that all security forces from the joint personnel of the TNI, Polri and BIN would continue to act very firmly on all the actions of KST Papua.
Moreover, the Military Commander then emphasized to the separatist group that they would no longer use civil society as shields, because no matter what cunning efforts they made, in the end the security forces would catch up with them and be able to catch them with a number of measured measures. According to him, all this time the armed gangs there used the community as shields, making it difficult for the authorities to take action against them.
In the same vein, the Danrem 172/PWY, Brigadier General Juinta Omboh Sembring also said the same thing, that so far KST Papua has continued to use civil society and make innocent citizens as living shields for their group. The strategy is, KST will make people able to seek protection when they are being pressured by security forces.
Of course, according to Birgjen JO Sembiring, the cunning actions carried out by this Papuan separatist and terrorist group were intentional in order to disrupt and break the concentration of the security forces so that they were divided. Also included, KST Papua spread their troops to break up the security forces.
Because they often use civil society as life shields only for the benefit of KST Papua and as one of the clear evidence of their cunning and ruthlessness, the village community in Intan Jaya Regency admit that they are very angry with the actions of the armed gang and immediately try to improve their self-defense mechanisms by fighting back and drive them out.
