Cawe-cawe conducted by President Jokowi in the 2024 general election event has received support from various parties. This is because the cawe-cawe carried out by the Head of State were not at all an attempt to endorse a certain party, nor was it an attempt to thwart certain parties or an attempt to interfere with the election results. But everything is purely for the good of the nation and state and ensures that political contestation can run honestly, fairly and transparently.
Cabinet Secretary (Seskab RI), Pramono Anung said that the existence of cawe-cawe conducted by the President of the Republic of Indonesia (RI), Joko Widodo (Jokowi) did not mean to provide support to one of the presidential candidates (Capres) or vice presidential candidates ( Candidates for vice president) in the democratic party and political contestation, General Election (Election) in the upcoming 2024.
Indeed, it is not in the context of providing support for certain candidate leaders in the upcoming General Election, but rather President Jokowi’s candidacy in this political contestation event is to be able to continue to create a democratic climate so that it can run much better and also does not violate any rules. determined by the General Election organizers.
This indeed proves that at all the cawes carried out by the Head of State were not to give endorsements to certain candidates, but they should be interpreted positively, because he really wanted the 2024 Election to be carried out by continuing to prioritize the principles of honesty, safety and transparent.
Not only that, but the presence of cawe-cawe carried out by the seventh President of the Republic of Indonesia cannot be interpreted as interfering with state leaders in determining the outcome of the democratic party in 2024. Precisely, because of President Jokowi’s strong desire that the election be carried out fairly and the various programs that have been made, in the future it can go well, one of which is the development program for the Archipelago Capital City (IKN) so that it can be sustainable.
How could it not be, because with the implementation of political contestation that can run well, by continuing to prioritize the principles of honesty, fairness and transparency, in the future it will also greatly affect how downstream can continue.
President Jokowi himself has emphatically stated that he will be involved in the election implementation, which is all in the interest of the state, namely how to optimize Indonesia’s efforts so that it can become a developed country in the next 13 years, which is This is indeed very much determined by how the national leadership goes forward, so that the ongoing circulation of a change of leadership in 2024 is an important key to realizing Indonesia as a developed country and welcoming Indonesia Gold in 2045.
Meanwhile, the Deputy for Protocol, Press and Media for the Presidential Secretariat, Bey Machmudin also said that the head of state’s appointments were for the sake of elections which ensured that political contestation could take place even more democratically. On another occasion, the Coordinating Minister for Politics, Law and Security (Menko Polhukam RI), Mahfud MD considered that currently the position of the Government itself is to continue to guarantee every right of each pair of candidates in the upcoming 2024 Presidential Election. He also stressed that there was absolutely no intention from the Government of Indonesia to thwart or disqualify certain candidates.
