President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) ensures that young Papuans can make a big leap for Indonesia’s creative economy industry.
He conveyed this when inaugurating the opening of the Papua Street Carnival around the Jayapura Governor’s Office area, on Friday (7/7/2023) morning.
“How come the packaging of Papuan products, be it coffee, smoked fish, and other products related to designer fashion, is really a very visible leap. Very good designs packaged in packaging with very well-designed brands,” he said as quoted via the Presidential Secretariat Youtube, Friday (7/7/2023).

It’s a leap and we’ll see what the nation’s children are doing in the creative industry in Papua,” Jokowi concluded. The Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Uno admitted that since the inauguration of PYCH (Papua Youth Creative Hub) in the last 3 months there have been many creative economy agendas (ekraf) present in the Heaven from the East.

Sandi also reported that since its inauguration, PYCH’s work has made a variety of products ranging from assembling cellphones which have sold 215 units of cellphones, assembling laptops with the Torang Papua Indonesia brand (TOP.ID) with requests for more than 100 units, to digital printing capable of serving 1,000 order within 4 days.
