Secretary of the Ministry of State Secretariat (Kemensetneg), Setya Utama, said that the government is collaborating with an automotive company from South Korea, Hyundai, to prepare the need for electric cars. In total there are 346 electric cars of the IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 6 types that will be used on the agenda.

“This car will be used for the spouses of the leaders of the countries that are present. Second, for the foreign ministers of ASEAN countries. Then for security forces such as Paspampres,” said Setya Utama, quoted from the official website setkab.go.id.

Setya Utama said that there will be a total of 346 electric cars from Hyundai, which are a combination of the Ioniq 6 and Ioniq 5, at the 43rd ASEAN Summit in September 2023.

Director of PT Hyundai Motors Indonesia (HMID), Woojune Cha, expressed his pride at being able to contribute to the 43rd ASEAN Summit.

According to him, this support is a form of Hyundai’s commitment to the country’s vision and mission regarding sustainability.

“We are also pleased to be able to continue the trend of synergy with the government after we previously provided a fleet of vehicles for the G20 and ASEAN Summit 2023 in Labuan Bajo. Not only IONIQ 5, we also provide a fleet of Hyundai’s newest electric vehicles, IONIQ 6 as vehicles for VVIP delegation partners,” said Woojune Cha.
