Jakarta – Increasing literacy about drugs and efforts to eradicate drug abuse require synergy between various agencies. This was conveyed in the Drug-Free Village Facilitation activity, which underlined the importance of collaboration between government agencies, communities, and other institutions to create a drug-free Indonesia.
The Director of Village and Rural Social and Cultural Development and Environment of the Ministry of Villages and Development of Disadvantaged Regions (Kemendes PDT), Luthfy Latie, explained that one of the efforts made by Kemendes PDT is to increase understanding and the active role of village governments in eradicating drugs through the Drug-Free Village Facilitation activity.
“The Drug-Free Village Facilitation is a series of activities that have been carried out previously with the hope of providing a complete understanding for regional governments and village governments about policy strategies and basic efforts to prevent and handle drug abuse through the functions and roles of village governments,” said Luthfy.
Furthermore, Luthfy emphasized that prevention activities, such as through facilitation, are much more important than having to deal with the impact of drug abuse that has already spread. Therefore, the Ministry of Villages, Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration also opens up space for village funds to be used to support preventive activities that are preventive in nature, so that village communities can be more active in preventing drug abuse early on.
In a different location, the Head of the Tangerang City State Administration Institute (LAN), Helmy Halim, emphasized the importance of synergy between institutions in combating drugs. According to him, the drug problem has become a national problem that requires joint handling from various parties.
“Indonesia is currently in the red zone of drug trafficking. The number of users continues to increase, so LAN Kota Tangerang has an important role in realizing a drug-free Indonesia. We are ready to establish relationships with BNN throughout Indonesia to increase synergy and continue to socialize P4GN in the community,” said Helmy.
Helmy also invited all communities and related agencies to increase cooperation in implementing the Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking Eradication Program (P4GN), which not only involves the government, but also all elements of society, educational institutions, and civil society organizations.
Through collaboration between village governments, educational institutions, and state institutions such as BNN and LAN, it is hoped that a strong collective awareness can be created regarding the dangers of drugs and the importance of the active role of the community in preventing the distribution and abuse of drugs in Indonesia.
With closer synergy between agencies, it is hoped that the Indonesian people, especially the younger generation, can avoid the threat of the increasingly rampant dangers of drugs.
