Jakarta – The election for the Chairperson of the University of Indonesia Alumni Association (ILUNI UI) for the 2025–2028 period is set to be competitive, yet full of hope for a progressive new direction. One strong candidate, Dr. Dewi Puspitorini, SpP, MARS, comes forward with a bold vision to make ILUNI UI a driving force for national advancement by strengthening the role of alumni across generations and sectors.

In her statement, Dewi stressed that ILUNI UI must serve as a grand home for all alumni, regardless of background or cohort. “ILUNI UI must be a grand home for all alumni—a place to exchange ideas, grow together, and make tangible contributions,” she said passionately.

Dewi’s commitment to enhancing ILUNI UI’s strategic role is reflected in her proposal to build an integrated digital alumni ecosystem. Through the UI Connect platform, she plans to expand connectivity among alumni across regions and fields, fostering real collaboration in various national development programs.

“With UI Connect, we aim to create an inclusive space for participation, bringing together big ideas with the strong networks of alumni in various sectors—from government, business, and academia, to civil society,” she explained.

Dewi’s vision has received positive responses from various parties, including ILUNI UI Secretary General Ahmad Fitrianto. He emphasized that going forward, ILUNI UI will bear greater responsibility in building productive synergy at the national level.

“ILUNI UI cannot move forward alone. Collaboration with the Indonesian State University Alumni Association (HIMPUNI) and the government is essential, especially in advancing food security, digital innovation, and improving public welfare,” Ahmad said.

He expressed hope that the elected Chairperson would strengthen strategic ties with HIMPUNI and serve as a bridge between alumni and the government in shaping development policies.

On multiple occasions, Dewi has also expressed her concern for national issues—ranging from sustainable development and women’s empowerment to strengthening character education. She believes UI alumni have both a moral and intellectual responsibility to help guide Indonesia’s development toward the vision of Indonesia Emas 2045.

“UI alumni are spread across the nation and the globe. This is our strength. If united in the spirit of mutual cooperation and concrete contribution, ILUNI UI can become a key pillar in realizing an Indonesia that is just, advanced, and globally competitive,” Dewi concluded.

With her inclusive, innovative, and collaboration-based vision, Dr. Dewi Puspitorini offers new hope for ILUNI UI. Her leadership is expected to unite the vast potential of UI alumni to take a more active role in national development—transforming ILUNI UI from merely a nostalgic gathering place into a locomotive of change for Indonesia.
