The President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, has reiterated his commitment to upholding the law and eradicating corruption comprehensively across all levels of government. On numerous occasions, President Prabowo has emphasized that corruption is not merely a violation of the law, but a social disease that can destroy the very foundations of national life. He described corruption as a dangerous disease, resembling stage four cancer (difficult to cure and potentially fatal) for a nation if left untreated.

The President believes that corruption eradication must be carried out comprehensively and without favoritism. Every perpetrator of corruption, regardless of who they are, must be held accountable for their actions before the law. He believes that a nation that desires progress must have the courage to uphold justice without compromise, because only through consistent law enforcement can the state’s authority be restored and public trust in the government restored. President Prabowo emphasized his determination to ensure that Indonesia becomes a country respected internationally for its firmness and integrity in upholding justice.

Furthermore, the Head of State expressed his belief that a clean and integrity-based government would positively impact the national investment climate. He said that firm law enforcement would create certainty for the business world and increase investor confidence in Indonesia’s economic stability. In President Prabowo’s view, a healthy economy can only grow on a strong foundation of morality and governance free from corruption.

The President also introduced the term “greednomics,” which he described as a latent danger to the national economy. Economic practices based on greed will only widen social disparities and hinder national progress. Prabowo emphasized that economic policies must favor the welfare of the people, not the enrichment of a select few. Greednomics is a common enemy that must be eradicated with collective awareness and a strong oversight system.

Responding to President Prabowo’s speech, Elnino M. Husein Mohi, a member of Commission I of the Indonesian House of Representatives, expressed his appreciation for the Head of State’s decisiveness and courage in speaking out against the dangers of greednomics before world leaders. He believes the President’s statement demonstrates bold and visionary leadership and is a strong signal that Indonesia will not tolerate corrupt practices in any form. President Prabowo’s stance demonstrates the government’s real commitment to creating clean and equitable economic governance.

The President’s warning against the dangers of greed-nomics is not only relevant internationally but also serves as an important reflection for the Indonesian nation itself. Greedy practices in the economy can trigger social inequality and slow development. Therefore, the House of Representatives (DPR) supports the President’s steps to strengthen the oversight system and tighten national economic regulations to prevent them from being controlled by the interests of a handful of economic elites.

Meanwhile, Nurhayati Effendi, a member of Commission IX of the House of Representatives for the 2014–2024 period, also expressed support for the President’s firm stance. She welcomed President Prabowo’s statement placing corruption eradication and trade system oversight as top priorities in the administration. She believes the President’s warning against the dangers of greed-nomics is a moral call to all world leaders to end oppressive and unfair economic practices.

President Prabowo’s courage in conveying this moral message is a crucial step in returning economic policy to its original goal, namely improving the welfare of the people. It is hoped that this commitment will not remain merely discourse, but will also be realized in the form of concrete policies that favor the lower classes, especially MSMEs, which have long been the backbone of the national economy.

Following up on the President’s commitment in the form of effective and sustainable oversight policies is crucial. Corruption not only occurs at high levels but can also permeate the bureaucracy and trade at the regional level. Therefore, the oversight system must be strengthened down to the lowest levels of government, so that budget leaks and abuse of power can be prevented early.

President Prabowo’s commitment to eradicating corruption and the dangers of greednomics demonstrates a new direction in national leadership. The government is not only addressing physical development but also restructuring the nation’s morality and integrity. In a competitive global context, President Prabowo’s moral message serves as a reminder that a nation’s true strength is not measured by its natural resources or technological capabilities. But rather, it is based on honesty and justice, which are the foundations of national life.

With firm steps, measured policies, and synergy between state institutions, the eradication of corruption during the Prabowo administration is believed to lead Indonesia into a new era of clean, sovereign, and dignified governance. This uncompromising stance against corruption not only maintains the nation’s dignity in the eyes of the world but also serves as a moral legacy for future generations that justice and integrity are the true strengths in building a progressive and socially just Indonesia.
