The government will take firm action against ASN that is proven to have joined a radical organization. They will be subject to various sanctions, from reprimands to dismissal, depending on their mistakes. The public agrees with the government’s firm action because an ASN must be loyal to the state and must not sympathize with radical mass organizations. ASN is a profession that is considered to have a high enough position in society, because it has a fairly large salary and intelligence. Because the CPNS exam is considered difficult and the selection is very strict. Young people still find jobs as civil servants, because they are considered stable and they are entitled to enjoy a pension after retirement. However, to be a good civil servant, they must show an attitude and also nationalism. Should not be arbitrary and even join in forbidden mass organizations. Minister of Administrative Reform and Bureaucratic Reform, Tjahjo Kumolo, emphasized that ASN which is proven to have ties with banned mass organizations will be dealt with firmly. The legal basis for this prohibition is Joint Circular Letter number 2 of 2021. The letter states the prohibition, prevention, prosecution and disciplinary punishment for civil servants involved in banned mass organizations. ASN may not be a member or sympathizer of banned mass organizations, support and be involved in their activities. In addition, wearing mass organization attributes is strictly prohibited. The Joint Circular Letter was made to confirm the previous regulation, namely the SKB regarding the prohibition of prohibited mass organization activities which was issued in December 2020. So that each ASN is expected to be aware of and not want to be involved in mass organizations that are considered prohibited by the government. If they have been a member, then they must leave and cannot re-enter. Tjahjo continued, this SE is intended for ASN to uphold the basic values of being loyal to Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution. In that sense, a civil servant must indeed show nationalism and love for the country. He is paid by the government, so he must be pro-government. Meanwhile, the prohibited mass organizations are always at odds with the government. If an ASN becomes a senior in a banned mass organization, and cursing government policy, it is like spitting in one’s own well. When he is not loyal, he will be punished, because the requirements to become a civil servant must have a nationalist spirit. The penalties for ASN who are found affiliated with banned organizations vary. Starting from reprimands, suspensions, to dishonorable dismissal. This punishment depends on the mistake. If he is still in the sympathy stage for a banned mass organization, then his superior will only reprimand him, as long as he promises not to repeat his actions. However, if an ASN is very loyal to a banned mass organization and becomes the leader, and often makes hate speeches in cyberspace, he will be subject to the heaviest punishment. Because he had made a fatal mistake. The rules and the threat of punishment will make ASN think twice about participating in activities in prohibited mass organizations. The prohibition and threat of punishment are considered very reasonable. If ASN is involved in a banned mass organization, it will be very dangerous, because it can take advantage of its position. CPNS employees who are still innocent may be recruited to become new members. Therefore, this rule is considered reasonable, to prevent the spread of radicalism in Indonesia. We must not think negatively and think of this rule like the New Order era. Because it’s not apple to apple and the case is much different. An ASN who has been punished for being involved in a banned mass organization has been investigated first. So you don’t just accuse and get slandered, then you get punished by your boss. The public has praised the prohibition of ASN from becoming members, administrators or sympathizers of banned mass organizations. Because they consider that a civil servant must have the character of nationalism and be loyal to the state. So that it is not allowed to be involved in radicalism and affiliation with banned mass organizations. ) * The author is a contributor to the Cikini Press Circle and Student
