Allowance Rises 700%, President Jokowi Puts Great Expectations on Babinsa Performance and Value in Society

CIDISS. Tuesday, July 17, 2018 President Jokowi gave a speech and landing to thousands of Bintara Pembina Desa (Babinsa) in the PTDI, Bandung. On this occasion President Jokowi gave guidance to the Babinsa to improve performance in helping and maintaining security especially in rural communities, Jokowi requested that Babinsa maintain neutrality in the coming political year next year, namely legislative elections (Pileg) and President election ( Pilpres).

Babinsa as the front guard in the territory in maintaining security, Indonesian territory, is expected to be impartial to anyone as mandated by the Law. By maintaining the neutrality of the Babinsa can embrace society for the sake of peace in the middle of the coming democratic party. “Now public trust is very high to TNI and POLRI agencies”. Babinsa must also be ready and at the forefront in anticipating radicalism and terrorism. President Jokowi also announced that the increase in allowances received by the Babinsa came into force in July 2018, this policy has been planned since 2017 by asking the Minister Sri Mulyani to allocate its budget from the state budget, the increase in this allowance consists of Babinsa Type A which was previously only receiving Rp.104,000 per month increased to Rp.900.000 per month. Then for Babinsa Type B which was previously Rp.440.000 per month to Rp.1.200.000 per month.

President Jokowi hopes this increase in allowance becomes the motivation for babinsa to continue to work and increase the value in the community, and can become a public servant.
