Very fast global information technology has changed the acceleration in information exchange. In the digital age, the spread of radicalism has targeted various circles. Including ASN which is precisely exposed to many understandings that are clearly contrary to the ideology and basis of the Indonesian state.
Radicalism is an idea, understanding, and ideology that seeks to make fundamental changes in the governance of social life, nationhood and travel in opposition to the Pancasila and the constitution of the Republic of Indonesia.
Radicalism can be divided into 5 rings. Ring 1 radicalism is the center of the radicalism movement or the core group. Ring two is a militant group, the militant executors, the executors of terrorist acts. The three support groups are individuals or groups who voluntarily provide supporting facilities, the four groups of sympathizers who have the potential to support the terrorist movement but are not involved in acts of terror, while the fifth is the outermost layer, namely the society which is the target of radicalism.
The use of the Internet and technological advances now support aspects of ethical change and people’s behavior. The increasing dependence of the use of social media in the community makes information spread on social media unstoppable so that infiltration of radicalism becomes easy.
Facing the face of globalization, especially in this digital era, radicalism, terrorism, of course the government needs to build early detection with the surrounding environment.
Brigadier General Pol and Director of Prevention of the National Counterterrorism Agency, Hamli, said that young people and women these days still look vulnerable to being exposed to radical terrorism, which in turn is the perpetrators of terrorism.
He explained that the act of terrorism itself starts from the nature of humans who show symptoms of radical negative thinking. The negative radical itself starts from intolerance.
For this reason, he gave outreach to the people so that they would understand what terrorism was, what was radicalism and what was intolerance. If the people themselves do not understand about it, surely people will not know what to do. After new understanding together make this prevention effort.
On different occasions, the Bekasi Metro Police has an active program of village sambang to anticipate the influence of radicalism.
The steps taken by the Metro Bekasi Police Bin Bin Satmas are to order the Bhabinkamtibmas to frequently visit the village and hold dialogues with community members.
Kasat Binmas Metro Bekasi Police Precinct Commissioner Alin Kuncoro appealed, so that people do not join in or get caught up in the ideas conveyed by radical people or groups. Because their aim is to break unity and unity.
He also hoped that the public would not be easily provoked by radicalism and hoax news.
In addition, the Religious Harmony Forum (FKUB) of Majene Regency, West Sulawesi Province invites youth and students to increase tolerance among religious communities to all communities to prevent radicalism.
Chairman of Majene Regency FKUB, Mansyur, said that radicalism needs to be prevented by all parties, including youth and students, the prevention was started by increasing tolerance among religious believers to the entire community.
It also said, FKUB Majene Regency had also collaborated with various parties, such as the Regional Police and Ministry of Religion to embrace interfaith peace in Majene Regency.
Although many associate radicalism with religion, radicalism is basically a political problem in Indonesia and is not included in religious teachings.
Mansyur also hopes that youth and students can maintain tolerance because in the Holy Qur’an there is a letter explaining tolerance among religious believers, namely Al Kafirun.
The spread of radical understanding can actually be prevented by affirming Islamic moderation in Indonesia, instilling a spirit of nationalism, an open mind and tolerance, being alert to provocation and incitement, networking in positive communities and peace and carrying out religious activities with tolerance.
Previously, the government has also issued 11 Joint Decree (SKB) 11 Ministers and heads of agencies on handling radicalism in the state civil apparatus (ASN) since mid-November 2019.
However, we all have the same role in reducing the spread of radicalism, because radicalism is never in accordance with the ideology of Pancasila which is the basis of the unitary state of the Republic of Indonesia.
