The Extraordinary Democratic Party Congress created a polemic and dragged the Government involved in the agenda. This accusation is difficult to prove because in general the Government cannot prohibit or encourage the Democrat KLB, which is an internal party affair.

The government again opened its voice in response to the chaotic agenda which was claimed to be the extraordinary congress or the KLB of the Democrat Party in Deli Serdang, North Sumatra. Currently there are 3 new points from the government.

The government’s attitude about the chaos of the Democrat Party was conveyed by the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud MD in his video conveying the attitude towards the KLB event itself, how to solve it and the answer to the accusation of “protecting”.

It should be noted, the agenda claimed by the Democrat KLB in Deli Serdang, North Sumatra, took place. In the event which was claimed to be attended by 1,200 participants, the Head of the Presidential Staff Office (KSP) Moeldoko was elected and asked to become the general chairman. By telephone, Moeldoko agreed to the proposal after first confirming the validity of the KLB.

Meanwhile, General Chairman of the Democratic Party, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY), stated that the event was fake. In line with AHY, the Chairman of the High Council of the Democratic Party, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY), condemned the KLB which he called as being fake.

SBY stated that the KLB of the Democrat Party was fake and illegal, especially in the KLB, which crowned KSP Moeldoko who was an active government official who was in the presidential institution, not a cadre of the democratic party, aka Moeldoko, who was an external party to the party who became Chairman of the Democratic Party.

After that, the Democrat Party elites asked the government to reject the outcome of the KLB. The following are some points of affirmation of the government’s position which was conveyed by Mahfud MD.

Assume that there is no legal outbreak yet
Mahfud stated that the government had not yet considered an agenda that was claimed to be the Democratic KLB. Mahfud’s reason was that the event, which was called the Democratic KLB, had not been legally reported by the organizers.

For the KLB case or the PD KLB PD claim in Deli Serdang, the government will settle it based on the law. Namely after there was a report that it was an outbreak.

Until now, the government has not considered at least legally that there is no need for an outbreak or not, legally yes, even though our ears hear, our eyes see. But legally we cannot say it is an outbreak until the results are officially reported to the government.

Solution way
However, Mahfud said that the government has a way of resolving Democratic disputes if they have been legally reported. The solution refers to these 2 things.

First, based on the Political Party Law, the second is based on the last submitted bylaws or which is in effect at this time. For the government, the last AD ART is the AD ART submitted in 2020, numbered MHH 9/2020 dated May 18, 2020.

Mahfud reiterated that the current chairman of the Democrats is AHY or Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono. Mahfud emphasized that the government is ready to assess the Democrat problem openly from legal logics because the logic of law is also the logic of the people, so we can’t play games.

Answer the Accusation of Protecting Outbreak
Mahfud MD said the government did not protect or oversee the event which was claimed to be the Democrat Party Outbreak. Even though it did not protect it, Mahfud emphasized that the government also should not dismiss the event.

Mahfud compared this with the PKB Munaslub which occurred during the leadership era of President Megawati Soekarnoputri and President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono. He said Megawati and SBY also did not disband the event.

Meanwhile, the Democrat Party began cleaning up cadres who had defected and were present at the KLB in Deli Serdang, North Sumatra. Three Chairmen of the DPC of the Democratic Party in the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) were fired because they were proven to have attended the KLB which appointed the Head of the Presidential Staff Office (KSP) Moeldoko as a ketum.

The three chairmen who were dismissed were, the Chairperson of the Sleman DPC Democrats Sarjono, the Chairperson of the DPC Democrats Bantul Nur Rakhmat, and the Chair of the DPC Democrats Kulon Progo Sugiyanto. Chairman of the DPD PD DIY Heri Sebayang said the dismissed cadre was proven to have defected.

Two days later, the chairman of the DPC Democrat Kulon Progo Sugiyanto was also fired. Sugiyanto was also indicated to have attended an event that was claimed to be the Democrat KLB in Deli Serdang.

Suppose that the KLB has not yet happened, so what happened in Deli Serdang was an internal conflict which the Democrat Party had to resolve first.
