Radicalism is a dangerous ideology, so prevention of the spread of this understanding must be done. One of the efforts to prevent the spread of radicalism is to ground the noble values of Pancasila.
Mahfud MD as Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs emphasized that one of the threats in maintaining the unity of the nation and state is radicalism. Therefore, every individual has the right to care for the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia.
This was conveyed by Mahfud in front of the thoriqah leaders who are members of Jami’yyah Ahlith Thoriqoh Al Mu’tabaroh An Nahdliyyah (Jatman) during the National Deliberation in Bengkulu on Sunday, March 13, 2022.
Mahfud said “The Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI) is a gift from God that we have, and must be cared for. One of the things that threatens to take care of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia is radicalism, which is a movement that wants to dismantle agreements in state life as Darul Mitsaq.
He explained how to ground the noble values of thoriqoh to strengthen the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia. According to him, a country that was built with opportunity should not be dismantled by violating the law.
In his affix Mahfud said, “We build the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia based on the ijtihad of the scholars. Thoriqoh scholars make a big contribution to this country.
On a different occasion, Mochammad as a Lecturer at the Islamic High School (STAI) Latansa Mashiro Rangkas bitung, himself said that strengthening Pancasila values in society and other institutions was able to prevent radicalism and terrorism.
He believes that Pancasila will foster the spirit of nationalism and love for the homeland and nation. So far, these ideas are still growing in Indonesia after the suicide bombing at the Medan Police Headquarters.
According to him, those who have been proven to be terrorists do not want to accept the values of Pancasila so they are easily trapped by radical ideas. Therefore, the values of Pancasila must be practiced in the life of the nation and state.
Of course we must know that Pancasila is fixed as a guideline for the ideology of the Indonesian people who have cultural, racial, ethnic and linguistic diversity. However, in the midst of these differences, Pancasila is the strength for the unity and integrity of the nation from Sabang to Merauke.
Pancasila certainly cannot be replaced or exchanged with other ideologies. Maintaining and practicing Pancasila is a necessity. Because with Pancasila Indonesia is able to move towards prosperity and prosperity.
Let the dashing and mighty Pancasila be the basis of the state. Never hurt the noble and commendable values of Pancasila. So that the ideas of Indonesia’s founding fathers must be protected from various ideologies that want to destroy the values of Pancasila.
Our nation has been hurt by communist ideology, the cruelty of the Indonesian Communist Party has never been forgotten by Indonesian history books.
Pancasila itself functions as a source of law, namely, as an adhesive for the unity of national law in the sense that every rule of law that regulates aspects of life does not conflict with Pancasila as a philosophy, view of life and the basis of the state.
In addition, Pancasila also functions as the ideals of national law, which means that all the rules that arise and regulate people’s lives are formed to realize the ideals of a nation and state based on the intact values of Pancasila.
Education about Pancasila for millennials will also be more effective if it is presented in a millennial style, of course without reducing its substance. So that young people can find their own formulas to understand, absorb and practice Pancasila in their daily lives.
These are some of the factors that cause radicalism to thrive in Indonesia. the spread of radicalism continues to move with high militancy. The distribution pattern is carried out in a conventional to modern way. This is evidenced by the increasingly easy to find teachings of radicalism from magazines to the internet. The radicalist’s understanding of social space was able to deliver radicalism with cultural mechanisms.
Young people, as the largest population of social media users in Indonesia, must of course be careful in accepting any available information, for example in interpreting the word jihad, it does not mean having to take up arms to fly to conflict areas.
Pancasila is certainly a solution to the spread of radicalism in Indonesia, the values of Pancasila contained in it are the answer that Pancasila is an ideology that allows a person to protect himself from the existence of radicalism.
