On the same occasion, Chairman of the Expert Team and Spokesperson for the Covid-19 Handling Task Force, Prof. Wiku Adisasmito, said that the transmission of the Covid-19 case that occurred in the DKI Jakarta area increased during the long holiday period (long weekend), namely 16 to 22 August 2020.

Wiku also reminded the public to carry out disciplined health protocols to prevent Covid-19 transmission. He emphasized that the Covid-19 pandemic is still happening around the world

Wiku said, cases of increasing positive confirmation of Covid-19 in DKI Jakarta had jumped significantly compared to the last few weeks. Although the increase in cases was obtained from the large number of positive case tracing and examinations in DKI, the increase in cases must still be suppressed.

The government is also trying to reduce the use of beds to below 60 percent in order to reduce the burden on health workers.

One of the efforts made is to optimize the Wisma Atlet Hospital in treating Covid-19 patients with moderate to mild criteria.

On different occasions, Polda Metro Jaya has intensified the socialization of health protocols in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic. Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector General Nana Sudjana said the spread of covid-19 in Jakarta was still quite high.

In addition, the promotion of socialization is also a follow-up to the presidential instruction. He said that his party was intensifying socialization in crowded centers, such as markets, terminals and stations. Together with Pangdam Jaya, yesterday, Nana campaigned for the use of masks to the people at the Hotel Indonesia Roundabout.

Meanwhile, the Commander of the Jaya Regional Military Command, Maj. Gen. Dudung Abdurachman, emphasized that the health protocol campaign can not only suppress the transmission of Covid-19 but also to restore the people’s economy.

However, health protocol violations are still widely seen. For example, in the Sudirman-Thamrin area, residents still want to exercise. Not infrequently parents bring their children to exercise in the area.

Even so, we must not be careless about continuing to implement health protocols, this is not only to secure ourselves from getting infected, but also to secure people who are outside ourselves, including our closest family. To rise from the Covid-19 pandemic.
