CIDISS. The 2018 Asian Games and Asian Games will be attended by at least 45 countries from the Asian region. Sports that have the spirit of sportsmanship become joint momentum to respect each other’s dignity in addition to pursuing the best achievements.
President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) delivered a state address at the Annual House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia today. Jokowi hopes that Indonesia will be a big success at the 2018 Asian Games and Asian Para Games.
The 2018 Asian Games will be held in two days. This became the second opportunity for Indonesia to host the Asian nation’s sports party.
Like the 1962 Asian Games, this Asian Games was also centered at the Gelora Bung Kanro (GBK) complex, Senayan. It was supported by other Jakarta areas, West Java, and Palembang.
At the Indonesian House of Representatives Building, Jokowi said, we must also remember that in two days Indonesia will have a golden opportunity to again amaze the world with Indonesia’s excellence and achievements through the 2018 Asian Games, the biggest sports event in Asia. After a 56-year wait, this year is the second time that Indonesia will host the Asian Games which will be followed by the Asian Para Games.
Jokowi added, in the two events, Indonesian sons and daughters will struggle to fly the Red and White, compete to sing the Indonesia Raya song, compete for the fragrance of the Indonesian people.
The 2018 Asian Games are special with the large number of participants. Although currently focusing on the Asian Games, Jokowi also requested that the Asian Para Games get the same support.
Jokowi revealed, we will host contingents from 45 countries, involving more than 11,000 athletes and 5,500 officials, the largest in the history of the Asian Games. Meanwhile, the Asian Para Games will present more than 5,000 contingent members. I invite all Indonesian people to work together to succeed in organizing the Asian Games and Asian Para Games in order to succeed as a host and succeed in achievement.
As a great nation, as one of the most beautiful pearls in Asia and the world, Indonesia must use the Asian Games and Asian Para Games to show the world that the Indonesian nation is a good host, a nation that excels, a nation of champions, and upholds fair play. We show that Indonesia is ready to be the leader in lifting Asia’s position in the world.
