New Normal Indonesian Economic Recovery Solution

It must be recognized that the PSBB policy and appeals for Work From Home do indeed have a significant impact on many of its main economic sectors. In response to this, the Government also initiated to implement the new normal as an effective strategy to restore the economy, while still paying attention to health protocols.
The government has drawn up plans to enact a new or normal new scenario in the near future. The order of normal life was carried out because people were asked to adapt amid the corona virus pandemic.
It is hoped that Indonesia will soon be able to get out of the economic recession caused by co-19 in a relatively short time.
Secretary of the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, Susiwijono, said that the matter circulating in the community was a preliminary study of the Ministry of Economy, which had been intensely conducting studies and government policies prior to, during and after the 19th co-epidemic.
The Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto revealed, his party would make a scenario related to how to strengthen in terms of health and start adjusting economic activities so that the number of layoffs could be suppressed and restarted socioeconomic.
Airlangga said the government had also designed stages of economic recovery in stages through several phases.
In addition, the government has also prepared a National Economic Recovery (PEN) program.
Between these stages the government is very concerned about the dimensions of health, namely disease development, virus control, health service capacity and socio-economic readiness, protocols for each sector, region and transportation integrated with others.
However, the implementation of new normal cannot be done simultaneously for all regions in Indonesia, this is because there is something that must be met from an area to be able to apply the new normal scenario.
Of course, before new normal is implemented, people must learn the protocol so that when new normal is implemented, people can continue to implement health protocols when they are in public facilities, such as offices or shopping centers.
One of the conditions is that the development of covid-19 in the area concerned is measured through a contagion indicator based on the reproduction rate of the outbreak (R0) in time t (Rt). Benchmarks for reproduction number R0 at time t (Rt) or effective reproduction rate must be below 1.
Referring to data from the Ministry of National Development Planning / National Development Planning Agency (PPN / Bappenas), if seen from the R0 indicator, there are several regions that are ready to run the new normal scenario.
In Bali, Central Java, DKI Jakarta and Yogyakarta, the trend has decreased and has declined relatively below 1 in tracking in the past 3 months.
As for the Sumatra region such as Aceh, West Sumatra, Bangka Belitung and Riau Islands, the figure is already below 1 by showing a declining trend in cases.
This also happened in several regions of Sulawesi such as West Sulawesi, Central Sulawesi, then East Kalimantan, North Kalimantan and West Kalimantan.
In addition to the development of the co-19 case in the area concerned, other conditions that must be met for the application of the new normal scenario include surveillance of viruses or public health, health service capacity, business preparation and public response.
At the moment there are 110 regencies / cities based on BNPB epidemiological data that are not yet infected by co-19. These areas also meet the requirements for the application of a new normal life order.
Some sectors that will be opened first when new normal is applied later are the Industrial sector. This is because the sector has obtained an operating permit from the Ministry of Health from the beginning.
After that, the government also began to open the tourism sector. Later, the government will arrange for hotels and restaurants to start opening even though their capacity is limited.
The other sector which also began operating was the interest sector. Then, the government is also considering preparing the manufacturing sector, plantations, to trade, especially traditional markets.
Specifically for traditional markets, the government has held talks with governors and regional leaders because traditional markets are indeed vulnerable areas. Thus, the opening will be based on regional indicators to case developments in an area.
Sooner or later, New Normal is the only option that can be taken so that the economy’s wheels turn back. Of course this requires awareness from the public to always follow the health protocol when outside the home .
