Since officially serving as President and Vice President, Joko Widodo and Ma’ruf Amin have scheduled five visions, one of which is structuring regulations. In this section, the President talked a lot about the importance of the government cutting licenses in the investment sector, which have been considered problematic and tend to be overregulated, which results in hampering investment performance in Indonesia. Efforts to remove a number of regulatory barriers through structuring and simplification using the omnibus law method, namely combining several rules with different regulatory substances, into a large regulation that functions as a legal umbrella.

Omnibus Law is a regulation that is compiled by someone who has knowledge so that it is based on in-depth references and studies. This Omnibus law targets three things, namely the tax law, creating employment opportunities and empowering MSMEs. For taxation it is hoped that it will be able to increase investment, the territorial system for domestic income places taxation legislation facilities, creates a fair climate for entrepreneurs and encourages the need to pay taxes. On the other hand, the Omnibus Law is able to create jobs, simplify licensing, protect MSMEs, handle sanctions, acquire land, facilitate government projects and so on. Changes occur due to the pros and cons of the previous policies, therefore the Omnibus Law was made to be able to increase economic growth which is needed by a process and commitment to regulation as well as paying attention to the benefit of the community. Economic growth can be seen by the presence of clear indicators, so a study is needed for these economic growth indicators in the process of formulating this omnibus law. The pros and cons of today are also due to information related to indicators of achieving economic growth that has not been widely conveyed.

The importance of reconciliation that is currently being discussed by the government, is only to fix the performance of the overlapping bureaucracy, therefore with the simplification of the Omnibus Law concept it is hoped that it can simplify all matters of public service.

Omnibuslaw is a good effort to help accelerate Indonesia’s economic growth in order to catch up with backwardness, but it also requires a lot of involvement from all walks of life. This is a one-step foundation for the progress of the nation by facilitating all investment and licensing processes in Indonesia.
