CIDISS. Indonesia can be a world model roller in terms of harmony and peace. But, the Indonesian people must believe in the power of dialogue.

Chairman of the Board of Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU), KH Iqbal Sullam rate, the Indonesian people who make Pancasila as the basis of the country, already reflects the harmony in the middle of pluralism. He said, in fact, Indonesia has become a model roller in terms of harmony and peace.

Since the declaration of Pancasila as the philosophy of the Indonesian Nation, it automatically reflects the harmony among religious people. KH Iqbal said that with great skill, the founders of the nation embodied Pancasila. It seems ulama and Islamic figures to release the Jakarta Charter.

Kiai Iqbal said, this proves the founders of the nation to see something more fundamental. They have done a virtue. But, now many people who speak wise, in Indonesia also many wise people. However, those who do virtue are not too many.

He explained that virtue does not always come from an intellectual and a leader. Even the lower class can do a virtue. Today, Indonesia needs people who doing goodly.

As for the sectarian, social, economic and political disparity in Indonesia, Kiai Ikbal said that in order for these obstacles to be overcome, so many people must do goodly.

KH Iqbal said, Wise political experts in raising political power, the wealthy sage in raising capital, wise politicians lead people in politics. But virtue? The conglomerates since Soeharto’s time also refused to do good. According to him, today many wise, but few who do good. The policy without virtue is not perfect.

In religious life, Pancasila should be the ideology of values in religious life. So that all followers of religion can maintain harmony, tolerance, and mutual respect among the followers of religion. So clearly Pancasila is needed as a theological foundation of religious people in maintaining politeness and friendliness in social-religious life.
