Support Economic Recovery, the Government Prepares Schemes for Union and Small and Medium Enterprises
JAKARTA – In supporting the sustainability of micro, small and medium business actors in situations of adapting to new habits of Covid-19, the Government through the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs has prepared a number of economic protection and recovery schemes.
Assistant Deputy III of the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs, Sitti Darmawasita, stated that there are five KUKM protection and recovery schemes that have been prepared. The first is for SMEs categorized as poor and vulnerable as recipients of social assistance amounting to IDR 2.4 million per UKM. Second, providing tax-intensive MSMEs which have a turnover of below 4.8 billion per year.
Third, relaxation and credit restructuring for MSMEs. The fourth is the expansion of working capital for 23 million MSMEs that have not been connected with financial / banking institutions and finally all Ministries, BUMN, Provincial / Regency / City Governments as a buffer for MSMEs.
“The five schemes are in accordance with the President’s direction in supporting KUKM for economic recovery amid the current global situation,” he explained in an online discussion with the theme ‘Support for SMEs to Restore the Indonesian Economy’ in Jakarta, Monday (24/8/2020).
Sitti explained, this scheme is none other than to overcome the economic impact of MSMEs amid the Covid-19 pandemic in order to be able to survive, the solution scheme provided is relaxation and restructuring, then when MSMEs experience a decrease, they are given expansion of financing and for those who experience bankruptcy, direct cash assistance is given. .
“The scheme will be given depending on how the condition of MSMEs, whether at the level of survival, decline or bankruptcy,” he explained.
As is known, apart from people affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, they were given a number of direct social assistance. The MSME sector, which is the spearhead of the economy, has also begun to be given a number of protections in restoring the country’s economy. At least 23 million MSME players are the government’s target until the end of December 2020. []
