The planned campaign for the vice-presidential candidate Sandiaga Uno in Tabanan, Bali, received public opposition. Community representatives through a statement requesting Sandiaga not come. The statement of rejection was signed by the Indigenous People’s First Morning I Wayan Yastera, the Grievance of the Banjar Morning I Office Wayan Suka Wijaya, and the Grievance of the Indigenous Banjar Morning I Nyoman Subagan.
“We, the people of Pagi, do not want a situation that is not conducive, because we have agreed to support candidates / legislative candidates and presidential candidates from PDIP, for the smooth development of Pakraman Pagi Village (Multipurpose Hall Construction),” said the letter.
I Wayan Yastera said that the community was not ready to accept Sandiaga’s presence. Residents, he said, were busy with traditional affairs ahead of the Panca Wali Krama ritual ceremony at Besakih Temple, Karangasem, Bali. In addition, the community has chosen the presidential candidate Joko Widodo who is the opponent of Sandiaga in the 2019 presidential election.
The letter was dated February 18, 2019 and was signed by Kelian Adat Banjar Pagi I Nyoman Subagan, Traditional Bendesa Pakraman Pagi Village Wayan Yastera, and Kelian Banjar Morning Service I Wayan Sukawijaya. The letter was also sent to the Senganan Perbekel, Panebel Police Chief, and Archives. Adat Bendesa Desa Pakraman Pagi Wayan Yastera confirmed the contents of the letter. Yastera said, in this political year, they had chosen the vice presidential candidate number 01.
“What other reasons are we not ready to bring in Pak Sandi, because we are talking about the political sphere because we also have helped happen by being assisted by PDI candidates. So from that we also have to secure the atmosphere and launch a development that we have planned, therefore at this stage we do not accept the arrival of Sandiaga Uno, “Yastera told reporters.
Not once has Sandiaga experienced rejection when campaigning in the area. This Prabowo Subianto couple was once rejected in at least two other regions, namely Sampang, Madura and Labuhanbatu, North Sumatra. On December 11, 2018 Sandiaga blusukan at Pasar Pinang, Labuhanbatu, North Sumatra. However, he was instead confronted by a poster saying, “Mr. Sandiaga Uno, Since We Are Small, We Are Friendly, Don’t Separate Us Because of the Presidential Election. Go home !!! ‘
In Sampang, Madura, Sandiaga was rejected by the Indonesian Laskar Aswaja in early January 2019. In his letter of refusal, Laskar Aswaja stated three reasons for rejecting Sandiaga. The vice presidential candidate number 02 is considered as a prospective leader who has good morality, ecological social sin, and corruption sins.
At the end of January, Sandiaga Uno was repeatedly surrounded by Jokowi supporters while campaigning in Wonogiri, Central Java. When crossing at the T-junction of Eromoko District, Sandiaga was greeted by a number of people who raised their hands and made metal poses while shouting “Jokowi”.
This shows that the public did not accept Sandiaga Uno to be number 2 in this country. The public is fed up with various lies and plays that are displayed. This country needs leaders who are not adventurous, synchronous between words and deeds. Hopefully this public is fully aware of who truly deserves to be a glorious Indonesian leader. (BT)
