CIDISS. Direct and simultaneous elections are part of an effort to strengthen electoral democracy in the construction of an Indonesian state of law pursued by all elements of the post-New Order regime, so that all parties must provide constructive support so that the political process is peaceful, quality and integrity.
As an occupational filling mechanism at the provincial and district / city levels, election of regional head is also a mechanism for evaluating past leadership and projected coveted leadership over the next five years.
As a mechanism, voter independence is a key determinant of the quality and integrity of election of regional head, in addition to other variables such as the independence of election organizers, independent dispute settlement mechanisms, fair law enforcement of various election of regional head criminal offenses, and others. Independent voters will be able to provide objective, non-pressure, and contributive evaluations on improving the quality and integrity of election of regional head.
