CIDISS – A number of palm oil worker visited office of board of labor and transmigration Kotawaringin barat regency, Central Kalimantan province, wednesday (14/9) morning. They report PT WSSL to board of labor and transmigration because the corporation did not expediently to worker.
Coordinator of action, Ibran Alpandi said that corporation often makes policies that harm the worker, such pending the payment of worker with many reasons. “Pending the payment to worker and not process who want stop of work,” said Ibram.
Ibram also said that the corporation recruits the employment from outside of Central Kalimantan province. It is proved by 37 new workers from outside of Central Kalimantan. Then, there are less numbers local people or kotawaringin barat citizen who works in corporation.
Ibram added that corporation pays the worker based in tonase (amount of ton). In the calculation, worker will have loss of around IDR 1.5 million each month. Besides that, sick worker, they requested to go to clinic. Then, they will have a medical, but they still obligate for work. If they do not work, corporation will cut their salary.
Chief of Board of Labor and Transmigration Kotawaringin Barat Regency said that the party will soon take serious action and meet the corporation to discuss the problems.
