Jakarta – University of Indonesia (UI) Economic Observer, Fithra Faisal said that the Ciptaker Law is one of the most important pillars to continue to boost export figures and support economic growth in Indonesia in terms of institutional improvement.

“The Ciptaker Law was able to create the widest possible employment opportunities, besides that at a minimum it was also able to increase the economic growth target, so that Indonesia was released from the middle-class economy,” said Fithra in a discussion event organized by Communi&Co together with the Indonesian Intelligent Communication Movement (GCKI), Friday 14/4/2023.

So far, continued Fithra, investors still do not have a clear legal umbrella when they invest in Indonesia, therefore they really need a legal umbrella in a short time, one of which is through the ratification of the Ciptaker Law.

“The objective function of the government and the goal of being a state is to improve people’s welfare, so this Ciptaker Law is for the community, industry and entrepreneurs, campuses and the government,” said Fithra.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chairperson of the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (Hipmi) Anggawira said, according to HIPMI, the Ciptaker Law is a solution to labor problems in Indonesia.

“Including the UMP, is a solution for equal distribution of wages for workers in each region and not just relying on one region,” said Anggawira.

Anggawira explained that the output of the Ciptaker Law was to provide simplification of the bureaucracy, so that business operations could be far more effective and efficient. This is because Indonesia is competing with other countries to be able to attract investment.

On this occasion, the Special Staff of the Minister of State Secretary, Faldo Maldini, asked not only to see a rule from one side only.

“In the life of the nation, we have to look at a wider horizon because Indonesia is so big that we have to pay attention to the fate of our friends in other regions in terms of equity,” said Faldo.

Meanwhile, Ellys Pambayun, Founder of the Smart Communication Movement of Indonesia (GCKI) thinks that the Government’s efforts to continue to build public aspirations and participation regarding the Ciptaker Law have been carried out a lot, through outreach, discussions and so on.

However, according to him, the actual product of the law is not only from a philosophical point of view, but also must pay attention to the psychological side so that it can touch and be felt by the public more. Thus, the Government and DPR RI must have political communication that is not too macro with national objects.

“Make the community the subject of communication, not the object of communication, so that society and the community must be actively involved,” he said. []
