The existence of the Papuan Separatist and Terrorist Group (KST) which continues to carry out a series of terror acts and disturbs the stability of the country’s security, of course greatly hampers efforts to accelerate development in Cenderawasih Earth which are being intensified by the Government of Indonesia.
The hostage-taking carried out by KST Papua against development workers at Telkomsel’s Base Transceiver Station (BTS) in the Okbab District, Gunung Bintang Regency, Papua Mountains is indeed a heinous and barbaric act that is completely inhumane.
Then, following the act of violence, there was actually a statement from the spokesperson for the West Papua National Liberation Army – the Free Papua Organization (TPBPB-OPM), Sebby Sambom, which was actually very misleading and tried to divide this nation.
How could it not be, because he admitted that emphatically, the Papuan KST group rejected all developments being held in Papua. In fact, all of the accelerated development that the Government of the Republic of Indonesia (RI) continued to encourage during the leadership of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), was none other than for the purpose of increasing the welfare of all people on Cenderawasih Earth itself.
Not only that, with the acceleration of development that continues to be carried out by the government and all relevant stakeholders, it is also a concrete form of work from the strong commitment that has been stated by President Jokowi himself to change the development paradigm, no longer being Java-centric or focusing too much on Java Island, but instead with an Indonesia-centric development paradigm so as to create a development that is evenly distributed throughout the archipelago without being left behind in any one region.
The Head of the University of Indonesia (UI) Terrorism Studies Study Program, Muhammad Syauqillah, assessed that so far, the whole series of acts of terror and also violence that continues to be perpetrated by the KST gang will certainly greatly hinder the promotion of community welfare development in Cenderawasih Earth.
Even though it cannot be denied that all parties are very concerned and want to see what the future will be like for development in the Land of Papua because the area actually has enormous potential to be able to continue to be developed, starting from how rich natural resources (SDA) they have to ownership of natural resources. human resources (HR) which is very much if it can be utilized optimally.
The next generation of young people in Papua are actually also a very bright generation, because they have a variety of talents and potential, which when compared to other regions in Indonesia are not inferior at all.
Of course, if for example there are continuous conflicts and threats to security stability as a result of the actions that are continuously being carried out by KST Papua with their many actions resulting in not a few casualties, even from civil society to security forces in Indonesia, of course with If this continues to happen, Papua itself will experience serious obstacles in its development.
Papua really needs to be developed immediately because it is to optimize the vision and mission of the Indonesian Government, namely to create equitable development in all corners of Indonesia. However, on the other hand, threats to security stability continue to occur due to the actions of KST Papua, which greatly hinder efforts to accelerate this development. In fact, it greatly adds to the urgency that the handling of the problems posed by separatist and terrorist groups must be addressed immediately.
So far, the series of terror acts that have continued to be carried out by KST Papua are not in line with how the Papuan development framework continues to be designed by the Government of Indonesia, even though these are all intended for the interests of the entire indigenous Papuan people (OAP) themselves.
In other words, when there is a bottleneck in efforts to accelerate development carried out by the Government, in the long term it will also be able to have an impact on how to weaken the welfare of the people of the Cenderawasih Earth themselves.
One example is the construction of access roads from one region to another which has recently been continuously promoted by the Government of Indonesia, in fact this will not be carried out optimally and optimally if threats to security stability continue to be disturbed by KST Papua, so remote areas there will continue to be remote.
Actually, the acceleration of development in Cenderawasih Earth is very important and needed by all the people there, besides that, the program itself is also one of the priority programs being intensified by the Government of Indonesia. However, with the series of terror acts that continue to be carried out by KST Papua, in fact it will continue to hinder the government’s efforts.
