President Prabowo Subianto is committed to fighting drugs firmly and comprehensively throughout Indonesia. On various occasions, President Prabowo has highlighted the threat of drugs that have damaged the younger generation and led many individuals into the cycle of crime. As part of his efforts, the President emphasized the importance of synergy between law enforcement officers, the community, and the government in eradicating drug abuse, which has become one of the biggest problems in Indonesia.

In a plenary cabinet meeting held at the Presidential Office, Central Jakarta, President Prabowo conveyed four important issues that must be handled seriously, one of which is drugs. In addition to the drug problem, the President also emphasized the need to tackle online gambling, smuggling, and corruption that are eroding Indonesia’s social and economic structure. This point is part of the government’s broader commitment to creating a cleaner and safer society.

In response to the President’s instructions, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo also expressed the importance of the role of the Police in eradicating drugs. He instructed all his staff to take firmer steps in the war on drugs, not only in terms of providing supplies, but also in terms of overcoming the demand for drugs in the community. For this reason, joint operations between the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police, the Regional Police, and related agencies are held routinely, with the aim of uncovering drug syndicates from upstream to downstream.

According to the Chief of Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police, Commissioner General Wahyu Widada, in the period from September to October, 80 drug cases have been uncovered, three of which are international drug networks. The operation also succeeded in arresting 136 suspects involved in drug trafficking. Drug eradication in Indonesia is now not only carried out at the regional level, but also involves international cooperation to stop the circulation of illegal goods that cross national borders.

Not only the police, full support also comes from the ranks of the local government, who are involved in realizing President Prabowo’s vision to eradicate drugs. One of them is the Malang Police which continues to strengthen its commitment to implementing the Asta Cita Program initiated by the President. This program covers various important points in eradicating drugs, one of which is preventive and repressive efforts against drug trafficking in society.

The Malang Police recently uncovered a drug trafficking case involving two suspected ecstasy pill dealers. The police managed to confiscate thousands of ecstasy pills that were estimated to be circulating among the younger generation. Head of the Malang Police Narcotics Unit, AKP Yussi Purwanto, said that the two suspects had previously been included in the operation target list because of their involvement in the drug trafficking network. This arrest is real proof that the police at the regional level are ready to support the President’s policy in eradicating drugs throughout Indonesia.

The success of the Malang Police in arresting drug dealers is part of the implementation of the President’s instructions to combat drugs comprehensively. This arrest also proves that the government’s commitment to eradicating drugs is not just discourse, but is implemented through real steps in the field. The police are not only focused on arresting perpetrators who are already involved in drug trafficking, but also trying to prevent more individuals from falling into the trap of drugs.

On the same occasion, the Head of the Presidential Communications Office, Hasan Nasbi, explained that President Prabowo emphasized the importance of togetherness in overcoming the drug problem. The President asked law enforcement officers not to hesitate to take firm action against all perpetrators of drug crimes without discrimination. According to Hasan, the policy shows the President’s commitment to zero tolerance for drugs and other crimes that harm society.

The government also reminded that drug eradication must be carried out in a transparent and accountable manner. With strict supervision of the implementation of the policy, it is hoped that the results will be more effective and have a positive impact on society. In addition, the government will also continue to strengthen cooperation with various parties, both domestically and abroad, to eradicate the increasingly sophisticated and widespread distribution of drugs.

In an effort to eradicate drugs, President Prabowo also supports programs that aim to increase public awareness of the dangers of drugs. The government will continue to educate and socialize the public, especially the younger generation, to avoid drug abuse. This is
