The entire Papuan community rejects the KST (Separatist and Terrorist Group) because it is a rebel group that threatens the security of Papuans. Apart from that, KST also often attacked indigenous Papuans, set schools on fire, and had the heart to injure their own tribesmen.
Papua is known as an exotic place for vacations and a producer of sago and other natural products. But unfortunately Papua is also littered with the brutal actions of the KST, even though the rebel group was only the formation of a handful of citizens who demanded independence. KST discredits Papua and tarnishes Indonesia’s pride, both at the national and international levels, so it must be eradicated.
The entire Papuan people reject KST outright because they have crossed the limits of humanity, by carrying out brutal attacks. Meanwhile, victims from Papuan civilians are not only injured victims. However, there are also victims.
In January 2023 there have been three attacks by KST. The first is the burning of a SMK in Gunung Bintang Regency. The Head of the Public Relations Division of the Papua Regional Police, Kombes Ignatius Benny Ady Prabowo, stated that KST set fire to a school on January 9, 2023. In that incident there were no casualties but teaching and learning activities were temporarily suspended.
The community criticized KST because this was not the first time the school was burning. In 2022, they also set fire to a school in Hitadipa District , Intan Jaya Regency. Apart from setting fire, at that time they also mistreated a teacher.
How could KST set fire to a school? If they burn the school building, they intend to destroy the future of Papuan children. They couldn’t study because their school was destroyed by fire. Even though education is one way to advance Papua.
When there is a school burning, it shows that KST rejects Papua’s progress. The people hate KST because they want to progress and be educated and smarter. But KST even prevented it. There are no Papuans who are supporters of KST because this separatist group acted cruelly and destroyed various facilities provided by the school.
Meanwhile, on January 7, 2023 KST held a shootout with officials in the Gunung Bintang area. Papua Police Chief Inspector General Mathius D Fahiri stated that this incident started with a report by a motorcycle taxi driver. He was blocked by 3 KST members carrying rifles. KST shot at him but missed.
Inspector General Mathius D Fahiri added, after receiving a report, his party immediately came there. When the police arrived there was a shootout and 3 people were injured. They are Brigadier F Romsumbre , Ipda Jenudin , and Brigadier General Freying J. They had received medical attention at a hospital in the Oksibil area .
The people were furious with the KST because they were determined to attack the police, even though the security forces were the people’s friends. The arrival of security forces in Papua to protect the community from various crimes, including from KST attacks. But KST considers them as enemies and shoots at will.
KST should have realized that the police and army were deployed to protect the Papuan people. But they still determined to rebel and attack. The victims were not only civilians but also security forces. Therefore the Papuan people are increasingly antipathy towards KST.
Meanwhile, KST also fired on planes in the Oksibil area , Papua. The Head of the Public Relations Division of the Papua Police, Kombes Ignatius Benny Ady Prabowo, stated that KST shot a Caravan aircraft , which was a cargo plane, when it was about to land . As a result, the plane failed to land and returned to Tanah Merah, Boven Digoel.
Kombes Ignatius Benny Ady Prabowo continued, there had been no reports of injuries in the incident. His party continues to carry out security and sweeps in the Oksibil area .
When there were successive attacks in Papua, the people always rejected the presence of KST. The reason is because the presence of these separatist groups is always detrimental. There are always injured victims and even fatalities and material losses when there is a KST attack.
The Papuan people must unite in maintaining security and order from KST attacks. Therefore this cohesiveness must be maintained for the sake of unity in the Cendrawasih Land and throughout Indonesia.
Don’t let anyone be influenced by propaganda and hoaxes that are deliberately made by KST members. Unfortunately, there are still people who believe in hoaxes too easily , especially on social media, so they must be warned. Community leaders are expected to continue to urge their citizens to reject KST so that Papua will remain safe.
The Papuan people unanimously reject the existence of KST. This rebel group was very detrimental because it repeatedly carried out attacks on civilians and security forces, and to the point of causing casualties.
