CIDISS – In July 2017, as many as 7 elementary schools were burned by anonymous. The main motive of the perpetrator is allegedly because of economic reasons.

The Palangkaraya Government has targeted to re-build the seven public elementary schools in the next that are deliberately burned by anonymous during July 2017. The mayor of Palangkaraya, Dr.HM.Riban Satia, said he would rebuild the school school starting next year.

The party has estimated the school construction costs will take billions of rupiah and takes up to four to five months. However, the target, in the first quarters of 2018 all the burned school can be used by students.

The statement was expressed after watching the state speech of President Joko Widodo in the 72nd anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia directly through television in the plenary room of the local city council.

Riban said he had just summoned the City Education Office and the People’s Housing and Settlement Service to explain the design readiness and development budget of the seven burning schools. “I ask them in the near future to explain the readiness and progress of the school construction, and then we will report it to the governor,” Riban said.

The mayor of Palangka Raya added that the meeting with Central Kalimantan Governor, Sugianto Sabran, will also discuss the CSR fund engagement plan for the construction of the school. “We will report to the governor on which side the development able to use the CSR funds, we also open if funds from outside the fund both from ABPN and provincial budget,” he said.

According to the plan, the school will be built into two floors. “We are open to development assistance from other parties, but because this is a disaster, we together with the Chairman of the DPRD have agreed to use the budget allocation of the 2018 Pure from APBD (regional budget),” he said.

He added, currently the teaching and learning process of students of burned schools is still ongoing and the learning temporary use predefined schemes.
