Continue to maintain conduciveness ahead of the implementation of the 2024 Election, the public should be able to jointly prevent and also avoid the spread of communication messages that are completely unethical when in public spaces because this will only further divide the integrity of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI).
One of the Indonesian Communicologists, Dr. Emrus Sihombing said that there was a statement put forward by political observer Rocky Gerung, which was completely irrational and also did not reflect the use of common sense in it.
It is known that recently there was a phrase which later became very viral on social media from this philosopher and made many parties highlight it. Not without reason, because the use of diction that he uses in one of his expressions in the public sphere is considered completely unethical.
Rocky Gerung had a chance to convey a diction of Bastard-Silly, which was immediately highlighted by various parties. Dr. Emrus Sihombing is no exception, who emphasized that whoever and whatever the background that person has, no matter what his social status is, when he comes to using such diction when communicating, then it clearly shows that the person is very far from the civilization of communication and away from using common sense.
Furthermore, the Indonesian Communicologist also advised all parties when they want to convey a communication message, especially when communicating in public spaces such as social media to use their reason more and the communication messages conveyed should continue to contain many benefits for many parties and continue to be able to maintain the civility of communication.
It is sad that Rocky Gerung himself has been widely valued by the public as a philosopher as well as a lecturer or educator. However, with this use of diction that he uses, it actually reflects how he has absolutely no ethics in communicating.
On the other hand, one of the Social Media Activists, Denny Siregar also gave his response to the statement from the political observer. According to him, the 64-year-old man’s words had crossed the line and were even capable of being categorized as an insult to the President of the Republic of Indonesia (RI).
Another impact of the expression using the Bastard-Tolol diction put forward by Rocky Gerung was to make former Democratic Party politician Ferdinand Hutahaean report the words of the political observer to the Indonesian National Police (Polri).
The report he made was not without reason because he saw that the philosopher’s words contained allegations of insulting President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).
Rocky Gerung could be at risk of being entangled in violations of the Articles of the Criminal Code (KUHP), the Electronic Information and Transaction Law (UU ITE) and also violating provisions in Law (UU) Number 1 of 1947.
Reports did not even come from only one party, but other parties admitted that they were very angry with how unethical the political observer was in communicating in the public sphere. One of Jokowi’s volunteer organizations, Barricade 98, also reported it.
For them, there is absolutely no one human being in the Republic of Indonesia (RI), even on behalf of anyone or on any behalf it is very easy to insult another party, especially if the insult is directed at a Head of State.
Moreover, it will not be long before the Indonesian people will hold a big event, namely a democratic party and political contestation in the General Election (Election) which will be held in 2024. Therefore, to welcome the implementation of the change of leadership in the country, all parties should be able to continue to maintain conduciveness together.
The President of the Republic of Indonesia (RI), Joko Widodo (Jokowi) himself directly invites all people in this country to continue to work together to ensure that the upcoming 2024 elections can be carried out safely and peacefully without any attempts to divide the nation.
The quality of general elections in Indonesia is also at stake from the success of all these parties in continuing to maintain a conducive situation so that the people’s democratic party can be carried out with great joy.
Of course, one of the ways to continue to maintain good conduct ahead of the 2024 General Election (Pemilu) is for the public to be able to avoid spreading unethical communication messages, especially when they want to say something in a public space.
