The 78th Anniversary of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia is the Momentum to Realize a Peaceful 2024 Election
In the momentum of celebrating the 78th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia, it should be a reflection for all elements of the nation to be able to appreciate the struggle and services rendered by the founding fathers of the nation. One of them is by jointly making a strong commitment to realizing a peaceful 2024 election.
Being one of the efforts and manifestations of loving the Motherland, as well as in order to pay tribute to the founding fathers of the nation, as good citizens, all elements of society in Indonesia should be able to continue their ideals, namely upholding the principles of democracy and mutual respect. respect the differences in their respective backgrounds while maintaining the unity and integrity of the nation.
The reason is, since long ago the founders of the nation really wanted all elements of society in the archipelago to unite, even in the midst of ownership of various different backgrounds. Thus, the motto Bhinneka Tunggal Ika was born, which means different but still one.
In essence and undoubtedly it cannot be separated at all that Indonesia itself is a country whose people have a very high level of diversity or diversity. However, precisely with high diversity, it is able to become a strength in itself and can complement each other if all the people are able to continue to maintain peace.
In fact, with the strength of this unity, in the end the people in the country were able to defend their territory again and proved successful in expelling invaders from the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI) by reclaiming state sovereignty completely.
Currently, the Indonesian nation is celebrating the 78th anniversary of the Independence of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia, which is indeed commemorated every August 17th. To commemorate and enliven it, Deputy Chairman I of the Regional People’s Legislative Council (DPRD) of Jayapura City invited all members of the community to celebrate Independence Day as a form of love for the Motherland and as an effort to pay tribute to the nation’s founding fathers.
Regarding this matter, Joni Y Betaubun seeks to continue to strengthen the kinship between communities at the commemoration of the Indonesian Independence Day with the hope that the community will continue to be able to remember the history of this nation.
Coinciding with the implementation of the democratic party and political contestation at the 2024 General Election (Election) event in 2024, Deputy Chairman I DPRD, who also serves as Secretary of the Jayapura City Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) faction, revealed that as an effort to realize the principle democracy in the country, then of course there is a difference of opinion or political choice is a very common thing.
Furthermore, according to him, the moment when there is political contestation is actually only once every 5 (five) years, so it is fitting that this should not change or interfere with the establishment of a sense of togetherness and brotherhood and cohesiveness among members of the community, all of which must be well maintained.
Precisely do not let the moment of circulation or change of leadership which is carried out only once every five years will actually damage the closeness between citizens and cause divisions among the people, which are completely inconsistent with the lofty ideals of the founders. a nation that really wants all citizens in Indonesia to live in harmony side by side in the midst of differences in any way.
For example, there are or occur differences of opinion and choices in the community in the context of General Elections (Elections), don’t just because it actually makes citizens not like or hate each other and don’t greet each other anymore. Because if that happens, it’s the same as indicating that the person concerned still has very shallow political thoughts, which should not happen if you really want progress in Indonesia.
The existence of differences in political choices is a very common thing that happens in a democratic country, including in Indonesia. However, as citizens, we should continue to greet and admonish one another. As people who also adhere to Eastern culture, it is only fitting that people are able to respect customs.
Maintaining peace is not something that is done by a certain group of parties or institutions, but this must be done and strived for by all elements of society without exception. Indonesian unity must be a shared responsibility by maintaining harmony with each other. The public should be able to respond to anything related to the upcoming 2024 elections.
By being able to realize and work together so that the General Election event in 2024 can run in full peace and smoothness, there is no mutual friction between communities and all citizens are able to respect each other’s different choices, then this is also the same as appreciating services the founding fathers of the nation who had painstakingly reclaimed Indonesia’s independence from the hands of the colonialists, especially in the momentum of the 78th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia, should reflect together.
