10 Years of Building: Appreciation of President Jokowi’s Economic Legacy
Jakarta – Ten years of President Joko Widodo’s (Jokowi) leadership have left a deep mark on the Indonesian economy. Through various strategic policies, Jokowi has succeeded in encouraging sustainable and equitable economic growth throughout the country. According to Edy Prasetyono, Professional Staff in International Relations and Diplomacy at the National Resilience Institute, “For ten years, President Joko Widodo has championed Indonesia’s economic growth in his geopolitical strategy. According to him, Indonesia’s most important interest is economic growth.” This shows Jokowi’s commitment to making the economy a top priority in every policy he takes.
Jokowi’s success in infrastructure development is one of the main highlights. Professor of the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Indonesia (FEB UI), Telisa Aulia Falianty, stated, “President Jokowi is the father of Indonesian infrastructure. Infrastructure development during the Jokowi era has facilitated connectivity, basic services, food distribution, and provided a multiplier effect for the Indonesian economy and society that reaches remote areas of the country to the Underdeveloped, Frontier and Outermost (3T) regions.” This reflects the positive impact of infrastructure policies that not only accelerate access, but also improve the quality of life of the community.
Over the past ten years, the achievements of economic development have also been recognized by various groups. The Head of the Kaur Regency MUI, Yulisasman, S.Pd, said, “During Jokowi’s 10 years of leadership, we have observed and assessed that the achievements he has made are very satisfying. We are proud and satisfied with the development that the government has carried out.” This positive assessment shows that the community feels direct benefits from the policies implemented, especially in terms of improving infrastructure and quality of life.
In addition, Yulisasman added, “Indonesia in general and Bengkulu in particular have experienced significant progress in various sectors. Infrastructure development and improving the quality of life of the community have become the main focus that has resulted in positive changes that are felt.” This illustrates that economic achievements in the Jokowi era are not only felt in economic centers, but also reach areas that have been marginalized.
With Prabowo Subianto as President-elect, Edy Prasetyono expressed his hope that, “Indonesia’s President-elect, Prabowo Subianto, will continue Jokowi’s struggle, and Prabowo has a great vision.” This signifies that the foundation built by Jokowi will continue to be strengthened to encourage more inclusive and sustainable economic growth.
With the various achievements that have been achieved, President Jokowi’s legacy in the economic field is real proof that visionary leadership and a focus on infrastructure development can lead Indonesia to a better future. Let us welcome a bright future by continuing this struggle.
