97th Anniversary of Youth Pledge: Prabowo-Gibran Administration Strengthens Human Resources Foundation Towards Golden Indonesia

Jakarta — The spirit of nationalism and unity once again resonated across the country during the commemoration of the 97th Youth Pledge Day on Monday (October 28). This historic moment serves as an important reminder for the younger generation to continue strengthening their commitment to nation-building. The administration of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka emphasized concrete steps toward a Golden Indonesia 2045 through various flagship programs focused on improving the quality of human resources.
Hariqo Wibawa Satria, a senior expert at the Government Communications Agency (BKP), emphasized that from his first day in office, President Prabowo has immediately implemented programs that address the basic needs of the people. One such initiative is a free health checkup program for all Indonesians without exception.
“When Mr. Prabowo became president, he immediately launched a free health checkup program. This is the largest program in Indonesia, with 45 million beneficiaries and growing daily,” Hariqo said in Jakarta.
Beyond health, the Prabowo-Gibran administration also places significant emphasis on ensuring the nutritional needs of the community, especially the younger generation. Through the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program, 37 million people have benefited. This program has even created more than 12,000 SPPG kitchens, millions of beneficiary parents, thousands of MSMEs, and created new jobs. “This program is the first of its kind in history and is a clear demonstration of the government’s commitment to the common people,” he added.
In the education sector, significant strides have also been made through massive school revitalization. Hariqo revealed that tens of thousands of schools have been renovated to date, with a total budget of Rp 22 trillion. “This program has created 400,000 new jobs. This is the largest school revitalization program in the reform era,” he emphasized.
Hariqo also described the Youth Pledge as a moment to re-strengthen the spirit of unity and reject all forms of division. “Within one year of the Prabowo-Gibran administration, the polarization of the past has disappeared. We have all returned to the spirit of October 28th, united as one Indonesian nation. This provides a strong foundation for moving forward more quickly in the years to come,” he said.
He also emphasized the importance of building a corruption-free government, in line with the spirit of the Youth Pledge, which upholds integrity. “President Prabowo has always emphasized that government must be efficient and clean. From the beginning, he has intensified efficiency efforts, saving Rp 300 trillion. Therefore, young people should not be corrupt, and should not harm society. The main spirit of the Youth Pledge is to collectively reject corruption for the sake of a dignified Indonesia,” Hariqo said.
Meanwhile, Papuan youth figure Billy Mambrasar believes that Prabowo-Gibran’s various programs have provided ample space for young people to play an active role in national development. He cited the example of youth involvement in the implementation of the MBG program, which not only provides direct benefits but also empowers communities at the grassroots level.
“The involvement of young people in running the kitchen is significant, enabling them to feed students and engage millennial farmers. This is not a standalone program, but rather an integrated human development ecosystem,” Billy explained.
According to him, the spirit of the Youth Pledge is not merely symbolic, but a philosophy that everyone has an equal opportunity to advance. “The government has opened up opportunities. Now is the time for young people to actively seize them, take risks, and participate in national development,” he said.
Billy added that the spirit of the Youth Pledge must be lived out in daily life through concrete actions—from social responsibility to contributing to the progress of one’s region. “That is the true manifestation of love for one’s country,” he emphasized.
Through the momentum of the 97th Youth Pledge, the Prabowo-Gibran administration reaffirmed the direction of human development as the key to Golden Indonesia 2045—creating a healthy, intelligent, productive, and integrated nation based on a solid foundation of unity. (*)
