The community condemns the heinous action of the Papuan Separatist and Terrorist Group (KST) which continues to carry out sadistic actions before Christmas. This action not only disturbs the comfort of worship, but also creates trauma and fear for the Papuan people.

The Papuan Separatist and Terrorist Group (KST) is notorious for realizing its dream of creating its own country. As a result of their unreasonable dreams, they justify all means, including violence. Moreover, ahead of OPM’s birthday on December 1st, KST increasingly appears in public spaces (because it has a tradition of going down the mountain) and keeps shooting and attacking here and there.

One of the KST victims was Sergeant Ari Baskoro who tragically lost his life after being attacked by KST members in Yahukimo, Papua. This bloody incident occurred on November 20, 2021 morning. He died while shopping for daily necessities at a nearby kiosk using a speedboat.

Dandim 1715 Yahukimo Lieutenant Colonel Inf Cristian Irreuw stated that the perpetrator of the attack on Sertuary Ari Baskoro was KST led by Tendius Dwijangge. In that event, not only Sertu Ari was the victim, but also Captain Inf. Arfiandi, it’s just that he was injured and his life was saved.

Lt. Col. Inf. Cristian Irreuw continued, he had suspected that there was a KST attack because it was approaching the OPM anniversary, so the soldiers were on guard. However, there were quite a number of KST members who attacked. They opened fire on members of the BKO Apter Suru-Suru Preparatory Koramil unit and the shootout lasted until 12.00 WITA.

The public condemned the KST attack which was desperate to attack TNI members, and to the point of taking the lives of the officers. Why do they have the heart to shoot when the TNI’s job is to protect the people? But instead they were persecuted and attacked all-out, as if they were at war.

In fact, KST and OPM were at fault for insisting on defecting and this violated the law in Indonesia, but instead shot themselves at will. what’s common sense? What’s the point of being independent if you can only attack other people but don’t have the skills to lead? They should have realized themselves and then voluntarily surrendered to the authorities.

The public has always been antipathetic to KST because this is not the first time they have attacked the police. The TNI and Polri soldiers are considered as enemies, because they represent the Indonesian government. In fact, it should be KST, who should be ashamed of being a hypocrite and being tricked by sweet dreams about independence, which are not necessarily realistic.

Birthday celebrations for OPM and KST are a moment to show off their teeth and show their prowess, even though arrogance is deadly and one day they will all be caught. So that KST and OPM can disappear, not only in Papua but also throughout the world. This is because some of their members still live abroad.

Security is getting tighter in Papua ahead of the OPM anniversary, especially in the Yahukimo area. Do not let there be another attack that is detrimental, both to the officers and civilians. Security must be tightened, especially since Yahukimo has a unique geographical condition. There are some whose territory is in the hills, but some are in the lowlands, so the apparatus must be more alert.

KST may be victorious in controlling the field because they are native Papuans but the apparatus will not remain silent. The Nemangkawi Task Force is increasingly diligent in combing and searching for their headquarters, because there are indeed many KST headquarters. So it is hoped that more members will be caught in the headquarters.

The shooting of TNI soldiers in Yahukimo, Papua, is a sad thing. No wonder the public immediately condemned the action. KST deserves to be hunted because they will celebrate OPM’s birthday in a very extreme way, namely assault.
