JAKARTA – The government has launched the National Investment Management Agency, Daya Anagata Nusantara (Danantara), as a strategic move to optimize state asset management for the welfare of the people.

The President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, emphasized that the establishment of Danantara reflects the government’s strong commitment to creating a clean and corruption-free administration.

“I, along with my government, supported by a solid coalition, am determined to build a clean government, free from corruption,” he stated.

“I will fight corruption with the utmost determination, with all the strength and efforts I can muster, without exception. The same principle will serve as the foundation for managing Danantara Indonesia,” President Prabowo asserted.

Danantara Indonesia is designed as a sovereign wealth fund with total assets exceeding USD 900 billion, making it the largest in the world.

President Prabowo stressed that this entity will not only function as an investment institution but also as an instrument for optimizing the management of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN).

Chairman of the House of Representatives Commission XI, Mukhamad Misbakhun, praised the formation of Danantara and viewed it as proof of the government’s seriousness in leveraging BUMN for public prosperity.

“We highly appreciate the government for establishing Danantara,” he said.

“The government has a grand vision of utilizing BUMN as a state-owned company for the maximum benefit of the people,” Misbakhun stated.

He added that Danantara’s management would be supervised by various parties, including the president, former presidents, former vice presidents, and oversight institutions such as the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) and the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

“Because Danantara’s structure includes supervisors consisting of the president, former presidents, and former vice presidents. Additionally, as the President stated, anyone can oversee Danantara’s implementation,” he explained.

Meanwhile, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, expressed her hopes that this entity would positively impact the national economy.

“Hopefully, it can drive the national economy,” said Puan.

She also emphasized the importance of Danantara in enhancing public welfare and promoting investment in Indonesia.

“Through Danantara, we hope to see a positive impact on economic growth in the country, ultimately leading to the welfare of the people,” she added.

With a mandate to manage seven strategic BUMN, Danantara is expected to drive investment into sustainable sectors such as renewable energy, advanced manufacturing, and downstream industries.

President Prabowo aims for Indonesia’s economic growth to reach eight percent through the optimization of state asset management by Danantara.
