Deputy Governor of NTT: The ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo is a Golden Opportunity to Prosper the Community

East Nusa Tenggara – Deputy Governor of East Nusa Tenggara Province (Deputy Governor of NTT), Drs. Josef Nae Soi said that holding this year’s ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara, was a golden opportunity for the regional government to be able to improve the welfare of its people.

“It is important that we in NTT must be able to seize this opportunity (the ASEAN Summit). One of them will be the opening of free trade between ASEAN and Australia and New Zealand, including Pacific countries, which number around 20 or 30 countries,” said Deputy Governor of East Nusa Tenggara Province (Deputy Governor of NTT), Drs. Josef Nae Soi some time ago in Kupang NTT.

There are three important issues that will be discussed at the 2023 ASEAN Summit or Summit. The 2023 ASEAN Summit will be held in Labuan Bajo in May by discussing three important issues and 16 other important issues that will be discussed by ASEAN heads of state. Three important issues at the 2023 ASEAN Summit are Recovery and Rebuilding, Digital Economy and Sustainable.

The tourism sector in NTT has been designated as a prime mover or prime mover in economic development in NTT. Therefore, the people of NTT must be able to take the positive impact of this international event together, which of course will have implications for the economy and welfare of the local community.

“According to him, Melanesian cultural approaches can be utilized as best as possible for the economic interests of the community,” said the Deputy Governor of NTT.

Then one thing that is determined is service facilities. Service facilities in tourism are called attractions.

The attractions in NTT are very extraordinary in terms of cultural wealth, dance, there are many sacred and sacred cultures or they are called traditional cultural expressions or traditional knowledge. So if the free market is opened with Australia, New Zealand and South Pacific countries, NTT can sell or promote this potential, explained Josef.

Meanwhile, according to Josef, the meeting regarding the Digital Economy was no less important. Josef assesses that as a Geostationary Orbit, it is appropriate that NTT should not lack a signal. So that in the future the meeting of ministers can formulate in full regarding the Digital Economy.

Then, one of the sustainable topics that will be discussed is the security of new and renewable energy (ETB). The issue of energy sustainability is also that NTT has potential such as wind and solar sources.

NTT must not waste this opportunity to be able to explore sustainable energy potentials ranging from wind energy to solar energy, he said.
