Foreign Delegates at the 10th WWF were treated to various Indonesian cultural treasures
Bali – Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno said the government’s commitment to providing memorable, quality and sustainable tourism experiences for delegates and participants of the 10th World Water Forum. Thus, the 10th World Water Forum event is not only a platform for discussing global water issues, but also to strengthen cross-cultural understanding and experiences for the participants.

According to him, it is important for foreign delegates and participants of the 10th World Water Forum not only to have the opportunity to discuss world water and sanitation management policies, but also to experience the richness of Indonesian culture firsthand.

In various events, from the opening ceremony to the end of the activity, delegates will be able to experience various cultural experiences, including aspects of Indonesian culture, such as sound, taste, aroma and touch, he said.
One of the interesting activities is Melukat, a Balinese self-purification ritual that reflects deep spiritual meaning. “The delegates were able to explore and understand this activity as part of the Indonesian cultural experience,” said Sandiaga.
Apart from Melukat, foreign delegations will also be invited to get to know Indonesian culture more closely through various other activities, such as the 2024 World Water Forum Cultural Parade and a visit to the Jatiluwih Tourism Village in Tabanan Regency, Bali, where they can witness the traditional Subak irrigation system which UNESCO recognizes as world cultural heritage, he explained.
“Together with the Bali Provincial Government and the PUPR Ministry, we will also hold the 2024 World Water Forum Cultural Parade. Apart from that, foreign delegates can also get to know Indonesian culture further through the Indonesia Pavilion which was opened at the 10th WWF Expo,” said Sandiaga Uno.
Not only that, Sandiaga Uno also emphasized that the Indonesia Pavilion at the 10th Expo World Water Forum would also be a place for delegates to further explore the richness of Indonesian culture through various activities, including the game “Lokapala” and virtual reality (VR) activities with tourism content.
