West Manggarai – Chairperson of the Leadership Council of the Indonesian National Student Movement (GMNI) Branch of Sikka Regency, NTT, Yohanis Maro supports the holding of the High Level Conference or what is known as the 2023 ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo.
“GMNI Sikka Regency is very ready to help and make the 2023 ASEAN Summit a success, especially now that Indonesia is the host and we have to show that we are capable like the last G20 Summit,” said the Chairperson of GMNI Sikka district.
He stated that currently the eyes of ASEAN countries are on Indonesia as the organizer of the 2023 ASEAN Summit.
“For that to all elements of the nation, especially GMNI wherever they are, let’s support and make this activity a success, so that it runs successfully and smoothly” added Yohanis.
With the activities currently underway, Yohanis Maro hopes that the 2023 ASEAN Summit can be a momentum to show Indonesia’s leadership internationally, in addition to fighting for the interests of developing countries, especially in the ASEAN region.
“It is a great pride for our nation to be able to invite leaders from friendly countries at this ASEAN Summit,” he said.
Hopefully the agenda of the ASEAN Summit regarding health, economy, and human resources will be able to promote Indonesia to be more advanced.
It is hoped that all GMNI cadres throughout Indonesia can show and maintain the honor of the Indonesian state, so that they are respected on the international stage.
“We must be proud to be one of the developing countries and the first to host the ASEAN Summit,” he explained.
