Jakarta – The government continues to strive to realize the fire of reform that has been echoed since 27 years ago.

Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto said that there will be a big agenda for Indonesia. One of them is Prabowo will carry out political reforms to bureaucracy.

“The Indonesian government is currently committed to implementing several major agendas, starting from political and bureaucratic reform, human resource development, food and energy self-sufficiency, to mastery of science and technology,” said President Prabowo.

The Head of State explained that world problems must be solved from within each country. If successful, he continued, it will have an impact on the world.

“If we cannot take care of our own nation, how can we help people who are in trouble? If we are weak, there is no way we can help Palestine, even our voices will not be heard, our voices are heard if we are united and we are strong,” he said.

All parties are also asked to reject provocation and avoid street actions that disrupt public order and security during Reformation Commemoration Day.

In line with that, the former Commander of the Prabowo-Gibran National Team Volunteers, Haris Rusly Moti, reminded that the student demonstrations that have recently emerged can be exploited by foreign powers with hidden geopolitical agendas. According to him, the government is currently building a strong foundation for national economic sovereignty.

“The Prabowo government, with a number of strategic policies, has built a solid foundation in strengthening Indonesia’s economy and sovereignty. However, I am concerned that there are efforts by outside parties to create social rifts through provocations spread through social media,” Haris said.

The government also invites religious leaders, traditional leaders, and civil society to participate in maintaining calm amidst social dynamics. The delivery of aspirations can be done through legal channels and official institutions such as the DPR, Ombudsman, or public dialogue. This step is considered more civilized and in accordance with the principles of a state of law that upholds deliberation.

Head of the Police Science Study Program at Airlangga University (Unair), Prawitra Thalib, said that freedom of expression in public is the constitutional right of every citizen.

The freedom is regulated in Law Number 9 of 1998 concerning Expressing Opinions in Public. However, several demonstrations that ended in chaos, were indicated to be ridden by groups that often trigger riots or anarchy.

“I appeal and invite and inform all Indonesian people, activists, students, that Indonesia is a country of law. Indonesia is a country that guarantees the right and freedom of expression in public. In fact, Indonesia already has Law Number 9 of 1998 concerning Freedom of Expression in Public,” said Thalib.

National Awakening Day is a momentum to rise together, build optimism, and avoid unnecessary conflict. By rejecting provocative street actions and choosing a peaceful path of aspiration, the community has demonstrated democratic maturity and commitment to a better future for the nation.
