Government Strengthens National Economy with the Establishment of Danantara
Jakarta – The Indonesian government officially launched the Daya Anagata Nusantara Investment Management Agency (BPI Danantara), Monday (24/2/2025).
The establishment of Danantara is real proof of the government’s commitment to realizing Asta Cita, a grand vision that aims to bring the Indonesian economy to a higher level through investment.
President Prabowo Subianto emphasized that the presence of Danantara is not just an investment management institution, but also a major instrument in national economic development.
“The establishment of Danantara marks a new era for state-owned enterprises,” said President Prabowo in his remarks.
The President added that the main objective of this agency is to optimize BUMN dividend investment in strategic sectors to support long-term growth.
“We want to transform BUMN into world-class leaders in their respective sectors. Indonesia must have companies that are competitive, professional, and integrated into the global economy,” he said.
In addition, President Prabowo emphasized Indonesia’s readiness to work with various parties to encourage strategic projects that can provide broad benefits to the community.
“Indonesia is ready to cooperate, ready for business, ready for investment, and ready to share in humanity. Danantara will allow us to expand international cooperation, and I hope our global partners see Indonesia not only as a developing country, but also as a force for regional stability and shared progress,” he explained.
Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Cucun Ahmad Syamsurijal, also expressed his appreciation for the establishment of Danantara.
He considered that the presence of this agency was an initial step for Indonesia to become a major player in the global economy.
“The inauguration of Danantara by President Prabowo is a momentum to revive the Indonesian economy in the eyes of the world,” he said.
Cucun hopes that Danantara can have a broad positive impact on the Indonesian nation and people.
On the other hand, the Deputy Minister of Investment and Downstream who also serves as Deputy Head of BKPM, Todotua Pasaribu, also fully supports the launch of Danantara.
According to him, the presence of this agency is a strategic step in strengthening investment and downstreaming in Indonesia.
“Danantara will become an investment consolidator institution, supporting downstreaming, and accelerating national economic growth,” he explained.
Todotua also emphasized that with a strong legal basis after the ratification of the BUMN Law, Danantara has a solid foundation to immediately operate and carry out its mission.
He also invited all parties to fully support the government’s efforts to realize national economic independence through the operationalization of Danantara.
