Hajj Service Supervisory Team Ensures Government's Commitment to Ensure Smooth Pilgrimage

Jakarta – The government through the Ministry of Religious Affairs has shown its full seriousness in ensuring the quality of special hajj services for Indonesian citizens. The Supervisory Team from the Hajj Pilgrimage Organizers (PPIH) has now been deployed to ensure that the entire hajj process, especially those carried out by the Special Hajj Pilgrimage Organizers (PIHK), runs safely, comfortably, and in accordance with regulations.

This monitoring step is carried out at various strategic points, including at King Abdulaziz International Airport, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, as the main entry point for pilgrims to the Holy Land. Head of the Airport Working Area, Abdul Basir, emphasized that this monitoring is a real implementation of the state’s commitment to providing the best service for pilgrims.

“PPIH continues to supervise PIHK services. We ensure that since the arrival process, the congregation receives proper and compliant services,” said Abdul Basir.

According to Basir, a total of 17,680 special hajj pilgrim quotas have been allocated this year, served by 335 official PIHKs. As of May 19, 2025, 6,868 pilgrims have arrived in Saudi Arabia in 180 flight groups (kloter). The emphasis on the comfort and safety of pilgrims is the main spirit, in line with the slogan of this year’s hajj organization.

“This is in line with the slogan of this year’s hajj. We want all pilgrims to be safe, comfortable, and mabrur throughout their lives,” Basir added.

From the organizer’s side, the service commitment was also emphasized by the General Chairperson of the Umrah and Special Hajj Organizers Association (SAPUHI), as well as the Owner of PT Patuna Mekar Jaya, Syam Resfiadi. He said that although there were challenges in the initial process, such as the delay in the hajj contract due to the transition of officials between countries, all parties continued to work hard to provide the best.
“The acceleration of the settlement stipulated through the Director General’s Decree is very helpful. In two months, the entire settlement process for special hajj pilgrims can be completed,” said Syam.

Syam also emphasized the importance of educating pilgrims through the Hajj rituals which must be carried out at least five times, with material covering various aspects of worship as well as the latest regulations from the Saudi Arabian authorities.

“If not informed from the start, the congregation can feel confused or disappointed. So education must be done comprehensively,” he said.

Facing various operational obstacles in the field, Syam stated that services to the congregation must still be carried out wholeheartedly and with a high spirit of professionalism.

PT Patuna Mekar Jaya, which he leads, has sent 684 pilgrims in a special hajj program, including Arba’in and non-Arba’in packages. The wave of departures will continue until the end of May.

With the synergy between active supervision from the government and the sincerity of service from PIHK, the implementation of this year’s special hajj is expected to not only run smoothly, but also provide a solemn and memorable spiritual experience for Indonesian pilgrims. The government is present, the people are protected, and worship is guaranteed.
