It is known that there has been a meeting between President Jokowi and the Prime Minister (PM) of Cambodia, Hun Sen on the sidelines of the 2023 ASEAN Summit.

During the meeting, there was a discussion regarding Indonesia’s commitment to continuing to increase economic cooperation.

According to President Jokowi, Indonesia’s commitment to economic cooperation itself is related to the nation’s involvement in infrastructure development projects in Cambodia.

So, with the involvement of the project, the cooperation that exists between the two countries will be increasingly closely intertwined.

Meanwhile, efforts to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the economic field were also carried out by the Coordinating Minister for the Economy, Airlangga Hartarto in his bilateral meeting with the Malaysian side.

Then, it was also reported that President Jokowi would not only meet the PM of Cambodia, but would also lead five other meetings at the 2023 ASEAN Summit.

In this regard, the Minister of Foreign Affairs (Menlu) Retno Marsudi explained that there was one more issue being discussed by the Indonesian Head of State.

This issue concerns efforts to save Indonesian citizens (WNI) who are victims of human trafficking.

“Those two issues were conveyed by the President during the meeting,” said Minister of Foreign Affairs (Menlu) Retno L Marsudi

He added that President Jokowi also thanked the Cambodian PM for helping rescue Indonesian victims of human trafficking.

Because with this assistance, it means that it really supports Indonesia in dealing with cases of human trafficking, especially online fraud crimes.

“We have to save Indonesian citizens who are victims of human trafficking, especially for online scams,” said the President.
