Bogor – The rules for voting elsewhere for certain reasons have been regulated in the PKPU. This is to ensure that the democratic rights of every citizen can be channeled properly. Some of the underlying reasons for this include working elsewhere or studying outside of your domicile.

STIN students did the same thing to exercise their right to vote. This is because they have registered with the DPT in their respective places of origin, but are carrying out study assignments in the Bogor Regency area.

Chairman of the Bogor Regency General Election Commission (KPU) Muhammad Adi Kurnia said that students at the State Intelligence College (STIN) legally have the right to vote which is regulated in accordance with applicable laws and General Election Commission Regulations.

“STIN students legally have the right to vote which is regulated in accordance with applicable laws and General Election Commission Regulations,” said Chairman of the Bogor Regency General Election Commission (KPU) Muhammad Adi Kurnia (Wednesday 14/2), when clarifying the circulation of hoax videos. in various media including social media regarding STIN students carrying out the voting rights process at the Bogor Regency DPT.

He emphasized again that STIN students have the right to vote in accordance with the KPU Law and regulations.

“Because of that, we, the Bogor Regency KPU, handed over forms for the right to transfer to vote to STIN students,” said Muhammad Adi Kurnia to the media in Bogor, West Java.

The STIN party had previously coordinated with the Bogor Regency KPU to propose a transfer to select STIN students who were originally registered in their respective areas of residence, moving to the Bogor Regency area because they were on study assignments.

“STIN students have completed the original documents from the STIN institution regarding their assignment letter so that they are guaranteed to have the right to vote,” explained Muhammad.

This is in accordance with the letter from the Chairman of the KPU to the Chairman of the Regency/City KPU number: 695/PL.01-SD/14/2023 dated 7 July 2023 regarding preparations for the preparation of the Additional Voter List (DPTb) domestically and abroad.

The Bogor Regency KPU also explained that STIN had submitted to the Bogor Regency KPU a letter of assignment containing the identity of the STIN student’s real name as a required document as proof of support for moving to vote. At that time, the Bogor Regency KPU understood the confidentiality of the identities of STIN students, including “Cover” as students of the Bina Nusantara Informatics Polytechnic.

Please note that the Bina Nusantara Informatics Polytechnic which STIN students use is only as a “Cover” because the identity of STIN students is confidential. This is in accordance with article 25 of Law Number 17 of 2011 concerning State Intelligence.
