In the Spirit of the Youth Pledge, President Prabowo Builds a Superior Generation Through People’s Schools and Millennial Farmers

Jakarta – Commemorating Youth Pledge Day, the administration of President Prabowo and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka affirmed its commitment to developing a superior, resilient, and competitive young generation.
Through the People’s School program and the Millennial Farmer movement, the government is opening up wide space for young people to become key actors in national development.
Social Minister Saifullah Yusuf explained that the People’s School is a concrete step in equalizing access to education for all levels of society.
“This program is a social education model that instills the character of empathy, mutual cooperation, and social concern in the younger generation,” he said.
This program embodies the spirit of the Youth Pledge, which affirms national equality and unity. While in 1928, youth united through the pledge of “one nation and one language,” today’s young generation is united by the opportunity to progress together through equitable education.
Meanwhile, the President’s Special Envoy (UKP) for Youth Development and Arts Workers, Raffi Ahmad, emphasized that the government continues to encourage the empowerment of the younger generation to be better.
Raffi also revealed that there will be a new breakthrough in improving the quality of youth at the end of this year.
“Please pray for everything to improve, especially for the younger generation. Stay strong. There will be breakthroughs at the end of 2025,” he concluded.
On the other hand, the spirit of youth independence and innovation is also realized through the Millennial Farmer program.
Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman said that there are already 27 thousand young people who are currently farmers earning between Rp15 million and Rp20 million per month.
According to Amran, interest in the agricultural sector among millennials and Gen Z is growing with the introduction of modern technology into the agricultural system. The government is providing support in the form of grants for agricultural facilities and equipment, enabling young farmers to immediately begin efficient production.
“Those from Merauke, Kalimantan, and Aceh earn an average of Rp 15 million to Rp 20 million. We provide them with facilities and agricultural equipment. And, God willing, this will be sustainable,” he said.
Support for the younger generation is also strengthened by the role of state-owned enterprises in the food sector.
Pupuk Indonesia President Director Rahmad Pribadi emphasized that cross-generational collaboration is crucial to building a national agricultural innovation ecosystem. He emphasized the crucial role of young people in providing creative and sustainable solutions for Indonesia’s food future.
“Therefore, Pupuk Indonesia provides the widest possible opportunities for young talents, researchers, startups, and professionals to contribute to supporting this target through research ideas and technology in the fields of agriculture and food,” said Rahmad.
With the spirit of the Youth Pledge this time, the Prabowo-Gibran government is opening a new chapter in the development of the young generation towards Golden Indonesia 2045. * * *
