Inauguration of Oil and Gas Projects Becomes a Milestone in National Energy Self-Sufficiency

Jakarta – The Indonesian government continues to demonstrate its strong commitment to achieving the target of energy self-sufficiency through the acceleration of various national strategic oil and gas projects that have a major impact on the future of the nation.

President Prabowo Subianto symbolically inaugurated the initial production of two strategic oil and gas fields, namely the Forel and Terubuk Fields, located in the South Natuna Sea Block B Working Area (WK), Riau Islands Province.

President Prabowo said that this inauguration was a historic moment for the oil and gas sector and national energy security, in supporting the achievement of energy self-sufficiency to improve the economy and public welfare.

“This is a historic moment in our nation’s journey to achieve national energy self-sufficiency, namely the inauguration of the Forel Project and the Terubuk Project. I, on behalf of the Government and people of the Republic of Indonesia, congratulate you on achieving this achievement,” said President Prabowo.

The inauguration was carried out by President Prabowo virtually from the State Palace as a form of effective long-distance leadership, while the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia was present at the project site in person. President Prabowo congratulated all parties involved in realizing the project.

“On behalf of the government and people of the Republic of Indonesia, I would like to congratulate you on your success in achieving this achievement. I would also like to express how proud we, the government and all the people of Indonesia, are of this proud achievement, namely the inauguration of these two projects which are the first inaugurations in the field of oil and gas lifting during the new government that I lead,” said President Prabowo.

President Prabowo said the two projects were important milestones for the Indonesian nation’s journey to achieve national energy self-sufficiency.

“These two projects are important milestones, historical milestones and our joint efforts to achieve national energy self-sufficiency,” said President Prabowo.

President Prabowo said achieving energy self-sufficiency is important for the nation’s independence. The project will save the country tens of billions of USD, no longer causing hundreds of trillions of rupiah to flow abroad.

“Achieving national energy self-sufficiency is very vital for the independence of our nation, if we are able to achieve energy self-sufficiency. We will be able to save tens of billions of USD, hundreds of trillions of rupiah can be diverted to development and people’s welfare,” Prabowo explained.

With these various efforts, the government is optimistic that Indonesia will be able to realize energy self-sufficiency gradually and sustainably, which will not only support national development but also strengthen Indonesia’s strategic position in the global energy arena.
