BRIN’s Deputy for Development Policy, Mego Pinandito, said that BRIN will continue to strengthen research and innovation to provide solutions to the water crisis at the World Water Forum.

“The issue of the water crisis is currently a global topic of discussion and a solution must be found. “BRIN continues to strengthen research and innovation in overcoming the water crisis at the World Water Forum,” said Mego.

Furthermore, Mego said, Indonesia has a national action plan to control climate change related to water resources. There are also priority locations for climate resilience in the direction of national development.

“Climate change has enormous effects on human development and security,” said Mego.

Synergy and collaborative actions will improve the management of water resources infrastructure in order to support water supply and food security. Then disaster risk management for floods, landslides and droughts is increasingly measurable. Then improve the management and development of water resources infrastructure to control the destructive power of water.

“The point is that mitigating and adapting to the impacts of climate change on water resources is very important and must be strengthened,” said Mego.

WWF is an ideal place to form partnerships and networks between research institutions, government, the private sector and civil society organizations. It facilitates the exchange of knowledge and resources, and enables collaboration on ongoing research and innovation projects.

“We see that the role of research and innovation is important to find solutions to overcome the water crisis,” said Mego.

Overcoming the water crisis must be done together. Synergy and collaboration between various related institutions is very important, because climate change will certainly have an impact on the availability of water resources, so Indonesia needs to take joint action to control it.
